As If Obama Mania Couldn’t Get Any More Insane

A Boston Globe columnist compares Barrack to Martin Luther King Jr., Bobby Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson.

I don’t think even the most myopic, die-hard Bush supporter would compare the President, or any Republican officeholder these days, to someone like a Jefferson.  Or even an Alexander Hamilton (though the President does take a more Hamiltonian approach to government than Jeffersonian).

But as laughable as those comparisons are, this is the best line of the whole op/ed:

The Bush administration has collapsed on so many fronts that Republican officeholders up for re election will be torn between saving their own necks and remaining loyal to the hard-core base. Eight or nine Republican Senate seats could be at risk.

Right.  Because it’s not like the economy is booming, the federal deficit is shrinking and unemployment has collapsed and remained low.

And let’s not forget that the Dems picked up a lot of low-hanging fruit in the last election.  Were it not for the GOP’s departure from small government, low tax, low spending principles (with some scandal and corruption mixed in) the Dems wouldn’t be in power right now.

I was already in the Marine Corps on my first hitch when I saw JFK rise out of nowhere to capture the White House, same with Billy Jeff. So, I have seen style, appearance and charisma trump experience and substance. We live in a Hollywood generation now, a great many people think that a movie star able to read lines well is just like one of their favorite characters and will vote for such people.

I think Obama chose to run for the White House, not for the number two spot, but he really believes and so do I that he can win the whole thing,

The real comparison, the accurate one, is to compare Obama with Dan Quayle.  Of course, Quayle was smarter and not as arrogant…

The only legitimate role of government with regard to economics is to prevent fraud and provide a remedy- civil and criminal penalties- in case of fraud.

People have the mistaken notion that the free market has no rules.  But it most certainly does.  All our problems are due to government meddling.

Quayle was smarter

Quayle was a bozo

When was the last time a republican presidential candidate had those numbers of people showing up for an appearance? 15,000 in Austin, thousands in Illinois, 3500 at George Mason University, a conservative college. Everywhere he goes, throngs of people show up.

Oh come off it Puzzle.  You can’t possibly think that comparisons to MLK, RFK, FDR and Thomas Jefferson are warranted at this point.

I mean, he hasn’t even completed a single term in federal office yet.  What has he accomplished yet?  Nothing.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Obama-mania will get even more insane if he plays his cards right.  He’s getting a couple thousand people at his speeches now.  If he doesn’t make any mistakes, he could be getting tens or hundreds of thousands of fans/voters at his speeches by this time next year.

It has little to do with who he is or isn’t.  It’s more of a reflection on the American public clammoring for something new.

Obama is Howard Dean before his scream.

He’s Dan Quayle with the support of the MSM, which makes all the difference.

Obama is eminently genetically qualified.  The Leftist press will fall all over themselves singing his high Hosanna’s, particularly if he is relatively unknown, has an undistinguished record, and therefore, there is little to hold against him.

Secondly, and more importantly, he is not Hillary—the great motivator of pissed-off Republican voters.

We had our own undistinguished, genetically qualified, milquetoast candidate, Colin Powell, who had absolutely no claim to Conservative credentials (Keynes, on the other hand, had great creds but was dissed by both parties), and the press, for no reason other than that he was both black and a Republican, loved him.

Do not confuse notoriety and fame with greatness. . .

—Sherman Finesilver

...Which is exactly what we have done under the Hollywood worship of the Glitterati, as opposed to the fighting men, the police who fight crime every day, and others who do great things in silence.

America needs candidates who are great, but in this day and age of the Vast Left Wing Hate Machine, it’s tough to find any candidate, from either party to come right out and unequivocably state positions which are good for America (and therefor poison to those who control the MSM) and not be visciously attacked on the way up.

...for great justice

We live in a Hollywood generation now…

I guess Reagan was a anomaly… How self-serving CAN you get?

Just remember: Election theft can trump charisma AND experience. Thank goodness for electronic voting machines!

Scared Stupid on February 25, 2007 at 01:09 pm

Scared Stupid: Ronald Wilson Reagan had been involved in politics for several decades before becoming POTUS, and he also served 8 years as Governor of California. So, by the time he ran for President he was voted into office, not by the liberal or because of the Hollywood elite, but by a nation that recognized his principled stand on many important social and international issues. At the time Hollywood was not as publicly involed in politics, because they didn’t want their careers to suffer.

There is not the tiniest scrap of objective, documentary evidence that George W. Bush did anything dishonest in any election; and his first election as POTUS was because he won the Electoral Vote.

I guess you are offering the public guarantees that electronic voting machines are 100% accurate and cannot be manipulated?

It’s a good thing Ronnie had an alibi otherwise I’d wonder about the ‘real’ motives of the Hollywood left.

Correct, there is no evidence that ‘W’ was directly involved in the taking of the 2000 election (too risky for the position he was applying for), but there are mounds of evidence that his lackeys, such as Katherine Harris and his little brother Jebbie, were involved with rigging the election in Florida. Expatriate Greg Palast (one of the world’s last remaining TRUE investigative journalists) wrote a book documenting his findings (he found more than ‘hanging chads’).

Electronic voting machines:
I know for a fact that a second year Computer Science major can way too easily modify the software that tallies the votes on Diebold voting machines. With this technology the election goes to the highest bidder with a 51%-49% margin in favor of that high bidder. Also, paperless trails are a plus when participating in ‘shadow elections’.

Scared Stupid on February 25, 2007 at 03:44 pm

Stupid: If any of these people rigged the election why are they not in jail? Do you suppose that knowing this information was true that the Democrats and their allies the MSM would not have pushed for prosecutions?

I have a feeling you are a conspiracy theorist!
