As Democrats Cram Through Health Care Bill, GOP Opens 10 Point Lead On Generic Ballot

And if you don’t think the two issues are correlated, you’re a fool.

Republican candidates have now stretched their lead over Democrats to 10 points in the Generic Congressional Ballot, their biggest lead ever in nearly three years of weekly tracking. The GOP has been leading on the ballot for months.
The new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 35% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Voter support for GOP congressional candidates increased slightly from last week, while support for Democrats fell two points.
Republicans started 2010 ahead by nine points, while support for Democrats fell to its lowest level over the same period. Towards the end of 2009, GOP candidates enjoyed a more modest lead over Democrats, with the gap between the two down to four points in early December. Since the beginning of the year, however, the Republican lead hasn’t dipped below seven points.

What’s scary is that I don’t think this matters to Democrats. I think they want to get their foot in the door with government health care. They view this as landmark legislation, and I think they’re perfectly willing to lose their majority and sit on the bench for a few years to pass it.

Well get your mind off sodomy for just a moment!

  • sayanything-2227

They think they will loose their majority until the bill starts to really bankrupt us and conservatives forward proposals to fix it.

Then the media will go into full scale “the evil Republicans are taking away grannies medial care” mode and scare people into voting for Democrats.

We cannot wait until November and watch the beating the Dem’s will be taking!

  • sayanything-342

The health care bill doesn’t go into effect untill 2013 so you can expect obama and pelosi to keep pushing the issue no matter what happens this week. There will be law suits following this travesty well after obama is out of office in 2012.

I feel sorry for the Republican that must clean up this mess.

  • sayanything-287

For truth to prevail, there must be a love of truth and I believe that is mostly lacking in the world today.

If the Democrats jump off the cliff with health care, I assure you that they may lose some elections, but they will have won the war. Not battles, the war! No matter how emasculated the program that is passed, it will be the gateway for full blown national health care in less than a decade!

Something else that’s not related? Baran is now down in Gallup also. 46% ap and 47% disap. Not related… pinky swear. Democrats are working hard to give Republicans close to 90% majority in both chambers. Not there yet, but as I said, if they pass this, the floodgates will open. And no the anger is not against the government, the anger against the despots wanna be that are usurping the government.

I understand what you mean Neiman, and I agree with you.
But is a fool less of a fool, if he has an adoring following of fools? Gravity would still remain there, even if all fools refused to believe it because of some fool in chief, whom they adore and who decided to “cancel” it. The reward of truth is the freedom it brings, not the recognition.
As for FDR, the general ignorance makes my job that much easier every time half baked “liberal” wants to talk to me about economics.

  • sayanything-287

I know all about FDR, but the MSM and academia consider him a god and Reid-Pelosi will be ranked with him by them!

  • sayanything-287

From a liberal Democrat Party point of view, if I were them, and I have a zillion reasons why I am happy not to be; it is worth huge losses in the 2010 election cycle. It is even worth losing the Congress and even the White House. (1) Once it is law, the GOP will never have the guts, intelligence, the communications skills or the perceived compassion required to end it! (2) As Prime Minister Pelosi wisely points out, they will start the next day adding to the law and massaging it into a full public option, support of abortion funding or whatever they want over the next decade, until it is all they dreamed it would be, with little GOP resistance. (3) Once it is seen as an entitlement program and the people get addicted to it, it will be impossible to ever change it to a smaller, less overbearing federal monstrosity.

I can applaud PM Pelosi and Reid for falling on their swords, as history through the liberal media and liberal educational system will call them great political giants in the future, people on a level with FDR and Lincoln. While more responsible, conservative Americans will not even rate a footnote in American history.

  • sayanything-4354

10 point lead? The Democrats should get 10 years to life for treason!

  • sayanything-287

We agree, except for that fact it does not matter what is the truth, it is what the people perceive as being truth and that is determined to a great extent by the MSM and liberal academia.

Our only hope, IMO, is to kill the bill now or it will be too late to change how history is written! If Obama gets anything like Obamacare, he will be lauded by those same forces as having won a great battle against insurmountable odds and his reelection assured.

P.S.: If I understand correctly the bigger problem voiced here, is the fools want to sink the ship that we are also on. That is a problem indeed. But the solution is to use the truth as an advantage. Here is what I mean.
I my above example about fools and gravity (oversimplified I know), one who knows the truth would set up a situation where fools jump off the cliff to their demise, believing that they can walk on air. Use their ignorance against them. What does it look like in real life? That’s for all of us to figure out.
    Good day Gentlemen

The thing about being giants of the history… you’ve got to know history. FDR was a giant all right, but a giant… failure. At least in economic sense. His Keynesian policies have prolonged a cyclically occurring natural recession, driving US economy into Great Depression and suppressing economic growth for who knows how long. Granted he alone can not be blamed for it as Teddie contributed to the start of it with his pro labor acts.

About Nancy and Baran, if the new definition of a liberal is a bigoted ignoramus, then yes liberals will adore them. But the truth is socialism is the religion of slavery, that steals a name from people like me, true lovers of liberty.

  • sayanything-3444

As Neiman points out, losing the battle on health care reform to win a majority in congress is an empty victory at best. If this unconstitutional act gets through and signed into law, short of legal challenges and a court that will hear them, it is over. It will never be undone, and it will be the undoing of this great country. Let the fools fall on their swords by pushing this into defeat and unpopularity with the people. When it is defeated, the left-wing nutcases will eat their own for failing to deliver their hoped for change – no need for us to beat them, they will have beaten themselves.

  • sayanything-2483

    Yawwwwwwwwwwwn

  • sayanything-4416

We’re going to cram this thing so far up your ass all the Congressional control in the world won’t be able to extract it.

  • sayanything-7406

Another boring comment from DINO. Same as the last 3500+ comments he’s made.

  • sayanything-4416

Next time you see a generic ballot, you let me know.

Go ahead, American idiots. Put republicans back in power. See how that turns out.

I can’t WAIT to see this country punished if they do it. 2008 was positively THRILLING, watching the people beat down after years of republican policies.
