Artist Gets Invitation To Make White House Ornament, Responds With Crazy “Impeach Bush” Thing

What in the world are some of these people going to do on the left when they don’t have President Bush around to hate any more?

When Deborah Lawrence got the invitation from the White House, the Seattle-based artist decided to make a lefty political statement.

But she never expected it would hang on the official Christmas tree.

Laura Bush asked members of Congress to pick local painters to decorate ornaments for this year’s 20-foot Fraser fir in the Blue Room. The globes (to be unveiled by the first lady tomorrow) are supposed to showcase something special about each congressional district. Washington state’s Rep. Jim McDermott contacted a local arts organization, which asked Lawrence, a collage artist, to create the local entry.

“I was at first nauseated, then realized it was an opportunity,” said Lawrence, 55, who frequently combines politics and satire in her work and saw this as the perfect way “to highlight Jim McDermott because he’s a hero of mine.”

The nine-inch ball is covered with swirly red and white stripes — and, in tiny glued-on text, salutes the Democratic congressman’s support for a resolution to impeach President Bush. (Also showcased: Washington state’s 1919 labor strike, its suffrage movement and the violent anti-World Trade Organization riots of 1999.) Lawrence sent it off to D.C. in September and was very surprised it was accepted for the tree — and that she was invited to this afternoon’s White House reception for the artists, which she flew to D.C. to attend.

“Apparently, they didn’t read it — or Laura Bush is more progressive than I believed,” Lawrence told us.

Or maybe she’s just not in to being mean to people with mental disorders.

This story is just sad.

I don’t get it.

I’m sure they looked at the ornament. They just don’t get that Laura Bush is one of the classiest ladies ever. I wish she had of sent it to me.......I evidently don’t have as much class, she would have gotten a good old fashioned ass whuppin’! I love how she said at first she was nauseated. What a drama queen!

I wonder how she will feel about the Odumbo impeachment?

Deborah Lawrence just cannot help what she is--her brain is like an old computer--it is hard-wired in.  When Pres. Bush is happily down in Texas, Ms. Lawrence’s brain will still be hard-wired in the same plugs.
Maybe she can get together with Cindy Shehan in some kind of hate coven.

It’s probably a good ol’ Texas “look what your idiot did” moment.
I’d bet Laura will un-veil the turd ball & present it as though it was painted by Jerry’s Kids while at a Chuckie Cheese’s.
I hope Jim McDermott is there to revel in the embarrasment & lack of respect shown by his pick.

Turns out, this woman “specializes” in “recycled art”.
THat’s right...she’s a dumpster diver.(Classy..huh?)
And she lacks imagination, as well.
I found a pic on Flickr titled “homage to Meng Huang by Deborah Lawrence”
It features the same swirled word pattern as the orb she sent to the White House.

What a progressive calls “social justice” is actually “the revenge of the psychologically oppressed against people who look happier and more satisfied with their lives.” As such, it is intimately related to the psychoanalytic understanding of envy, which is an unconscious mechanism that goes about destroying what one does not have, in order to eliminate the emotional pain of not having it.

This artist believes she is practicing “social justice,” but what she unconsciously means is social revenge. This is why progressives patronize and defend the worst kinds of so-called art, which are really more about a flight from being, into a kind of human-animal mockery of it.

My guess is that Deborah Lawrence suffers from secret feelings of inferiority, with narcissistic wounds to her self-esteem. In other words, classic progressive BDS.

There won’t be any Impeach Bush; the incoming President wants to appear the perfect icon and the last eight years of the nasty is bad for American’s NEW public image.

The ONE thing the proggs wanted most in the world (to impeach bush) is denied to them by The ONE.

Dudes have been bamboozled; flapping like chickens with their heads wacked off.

I am happy.

I’m tempted to start a movement where we bombard the White House with homemade Christmas ornaments supporting Conservatism.  Wish I had Debo’s address too.

And it is not even very cool or original. I have some Macy’s ornaments that have a similar red and white swirl pattern. Big whoop. And the letters are so small you can’t really read them. Kinda of passive-aggressive. Plus, she went to see the tree! If she was so anti-Bush, wouldn’t she have boy-cotted going to the WH while they were there? Did she spit on Laura, or smile and shake her hand?

Don’t worry about the lefties missing G. W. Bush to kick around.  I know some loons who were college students in the late 60’s/ early 70’s that are still impeaching Nixon and sending him to jail.  Being a Lib means never needing to admit time and conditions advance.

What an idiot! But I’m sure that she is going to be fawned over by the Seattle liberals. They’ll probably tell her how “brave” she is.

What’s McDermott done that’s so admirable anyhow? Violated laws on eavesdropping on telephone conversations? Or is that only evil when it’s done to terrorists? How about his support for Saddam? Is he so fond of authoritarianism? Or only anti-American authoritism?

McDermott’s office didn’t pick her? Sure they didn’t. They didn’t have to. No one can survive in the art world in Seattle unless they toe the party line. She made the ornament hoping to be rejected. If it were accepted she would be one of many. As it is she gets a lot of free publicity.

This only confirms my belief that most artists are lemmings.
