Arrest Warrant Issued For Husband Of Democrat State Legislator Over Prostitution
1:46pm
Michael Delmore, husband of Grand Forks area state representative Lois Delmore, has an arrest warrant out for soliciting sex in an incident that allegedly took place in March or April or 2011.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that an arrest warrant was issued for a Michael Delmore in the Grand Forks area, but didn’t report the connection to Rep. Delmore. The address listed for the location of the alleged prostitution incident matches the home address listed on Rep. Delmore’s legislative bio page. The reported date of the alleged crime would have been concurrent with the 2011 legislative session, meaning Rep. Delmore was most likely in Bismarck at the time of the incident.
According to the arrest warrant, Mr. Delmore allegedly scheduled a meeting with a 17-year-old girl through the controversial online sex site BackPage.com. The girl was brought to Mr. Delmore’s residence where she reported the two engaged in sexual activities.
This is the warrant for arrest of Mr. Delmore, the affidavit of probable cause for his arrest and the prosecution’s witness list. These documents were obtained from the Grand Forks County clerk’s office this afternoon.
Mr. Delmore is a former counselor at Larimore High School. Lois Delmore has served in the legislature since 1995.
Update: Apparently Mr. Delmore has been arrested and released on bond.
