Army Meets And Exceeds Recruitment, Retention Goals

Great news…

The US Army exceeded most of its recruiting and retention goals for October, the service said, even as it launched a new television and radio ad campaign dubbed “Army Strong.”
The strong recruiting numbers were the latest sign that the army has managed to surmount difficulties of enlisting fresh troops in the middle of an unpopular war.
The army said it exceeded its monthly recruiting goal for the active duty army by eight percent, bringing in 5,560 new recruits.
The army’s goal is to recruit 80,000 new soldiers in fiscal 2007, which began in October.
The army reserve was six percent short of its monthly recruiting goal, but the army national guard enlisted 21 percent more new soldiers than required.
Re-enlistments in October far surpassed the goals for the active army (30 percent), the reserve (14 percent) and the national guard (43 percent).
A new 200 million dollar army advertising campaign aired its first television commercials Thursday featuring the slogan “Army Strong,” the army said.

So much for that tired, worn out, stretched-too-thin military the Democrats are always telling us about.

Did y’all hear that the army reduced their standards for recruitment purposes?

Ellinas the new John Kerry. By historical standards our armed forces are VERY high quality people.

    Look it up.

    Rob,

Just wait til Charlie Rangle and Jack Murtha get a hold of the Defense budget. Then we’ll see that tired, worn out, stretched-too-thin military, just like we had the last time the Dems were in control under Clinton.

Stop loss accounts for 0.1% of retention in US military forces. Know who is being stop lossed the most, non-Combat Arms technical specialists. That means people not serving in combat operations, donnie. The economy and tech sector growth draws those having advanced technical skills away from the military, hence stop loss. At a rate of 0.1% how many people are affected by stop loss? Come on, donnie, lay those numbers on us.

And E, you are not intelligent enough to pass the basic ASVAB, even if the standards were lowered. Title IX does not get you into the military, you actually have to have mental and physical abilities to gain acceptance.

The secret’s out! Up til now, only the brightest, most patriotic, and articulate recruits were allowed. But now that the Democrats have won the midterm election, the Army decided that they had to allow liberals in as well, so of course they had to lower the standards.

Which explains why the standards had to be lowered to allow liberals.

What difference does it make to you, Don?

Seriously, say “stop loss” accounted for negligble to none of the goals being met. What’s your witty quip then?

I wonder if that number includes the troops who had their discharges denied under “stop loss”? Y’know, the backdoor draft?

Apparently, they didn’t get an education or they would have gotten out of the Army.

    Right, John Kerry?
