Arizona Judge Requiring Bans Term “Illegal Immigrant” From Court Documents

Not because it’s not accurate, but because calling illegal immigrants illegal immigrants hurts their feelings or something.

Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Ruth McGregor stirred up a hornet’s nest by endorsing a demand from the Hispanic Bar Association to censor words and phrases such as “illegal aliens” and “illegal immigrants” and substitute “foreign nationals” in court documents.
Then, when a blog at Judicial Watch reported on the instructions, court officials threatened to sue the government-watchdog organization, prompting its release of a statement defending the story.

Ridiculous.
Next they’ll be requiring that drug dealers be called unlicensed pharmacists and that rapists be called non-approved lovers.

    “How strangely will the Tools of a Tyrant pervert the plain Meaning of Words!” (Sam Adams)

    That plainly depends on what your meaning of “is” is!

    That has got to be the stupidest thing that I have heard. I also heard that Phoenix had record deportations this year.

    I would be willing to bet that the good sheriff Joe could probably tell this moron where to put her P.C. language.

    It should be the originial legal term; Illegal alien, which is what they are.

  • Friend of USA

    From the article,

    They also got personal, “She must have gotten her law degree out of a box of Cracker Jacks,” said another. “Calling an ILLEGAL ALIEN an ‘undocumented immigrant,’ ‘unauthorized worker,’ ‘or ‘human rights advocate’ not only is nondescriptive of the individual, it is the same as calling a burglar an ‘unwanted house guest.’ Get real!”

    Human rights advocates???

    Well if that judge believes an illlegal immigrant is a “human rights advocate” but the American who’s nation is being invaded has no right to kick out the illegal immigrant, then she is pretty much saying Americans are not humans.

    Until Obama or some other liberal makes it illegal to post what I think I will say it,

    that woman judge is a crazy bitch.

  • Friend of USA

    Foreign nationals instead of illegal immigrants???

    And what should we call liberals who come up with those absurd terms?

  • Kurt

    An illegal alien is an illegal alien. Quit powder puffing the term. Hurts their feelings? Too bad.

    Roght on, plain…. ;-)

    I’m going through The Federalist today as a way to relax and gather strength from the words of the Founding Fathers.

    It does one good…..

    A foreign national would refer to someone who was here legally or even someone who was in their own country.

    Regarding Rob’s term “illegal immigrant,” they aren’t always immigrants. They might be here to commit a crime planning on going home to spend their ill gotten gains.

    Therefore that term in not accurate either.

    NEW-SPEAK

    Illegal Alien = Undocumented Worker
    Drug Dealer = Undocumented Pharmacist
    Pedophile = Pediatric Sexual Therapist
    Thief = Nonspecific Current Owner
    Murderer = Unlicensed Euthanasia Therapist

    etc……..

  • CoonAZ

    I live in southern AZ and the preferred term locally is “wetbacks”. It’s a lot more descriptive.

  • di butler

    I think I would prefer to refer to all of the people who do something illegal in this country by their correct term “criminal.”

    I knew their [sic] were UFOs!

    I never did like the term illegal aliens. Just sounds bizarre.

    I prefer “illegal immigrants.” It’s accurate and doesn’t sound weird when you say it.
