AP Accidentally Publishes IM Conversation Speculating That Polanski Arrest Was Related To UBS

At least, that’s my guess after reading this weirdness found via Google News while searching for news about Roman Polanski’s arrest.

OK, can you do some more probing? New York will want to know
frank’s out today.
i checked already, and so did zurich. they say the question is irrelevant. he answered me with the quote i used, about we knew when he was coming this time. he’s been here many times in the past, we think.
thx brad. aptn is aware, but unfortunately won’t make it in time, but is hoping to catch tail end.
i’m pushing out another writethru with some more background details before press conference.
no surprise, new york is really hot on this.
they particularly want to know why now. (has he never set foot in switzerland before?) sheila, theorizes that’s because they’re under intense pressure over ubs and want to throw the U.S. a bone, but can yo ucheck with justice department sources there?
is frank around too, or are you alone?
u can tell aptn press conf 1700 (15 gmt) in bern at the parliament
i’ll watch it live on internet

Here’s a screen capture of the “article” should it disappear.
Someone made a boo-boo.

SAB regulars, being quite familiar with the boorish blackwaterboob (who is also a self convicted and unrepentant racist and SAB troll) have not been holding their breaths and are unsurprised he has not taken our host’s suggestion and apologized.

Nor has blackwaterboob provided a single citation or link to a post in which he has praised the men and women of our armed forces. He did, however, choose to overlook his fellow traveler eunuchized‘s slur suggesting the Armed Forces are racists who intentionally target non-combatants.

UBS. The Swiss bank Senator Phil Gramm R-Texas went to work for, after he and his wife deregulated the Banking industry.
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, removed Depression-era laws separating banking, insurance and brokerage activities, which led us to the mess we are in today.

UBS. It is the foreign Bank that among other things hides income for wealthy Americans, so they don’t have to pay taxes.

UBS AG, Switzerland’s largest bank, that payed a total of $780 million in fines, interest and restitution to avoid U.S. prosecution on charges that it helped thousands of wealthy Americans evade taxes.

Here is one of rod’s own threads, Guess The Party, The party was identified in the 3rd paragraph. He got it wrong.

Here is rod posting the wrong picture of the new Afghan OIC.

Here is rod screwing up the thread’s author’s identity. He thought it was me. He was wrong.

Here is rod misunderstanding a question and not backing down on his blunder, in fact doubling down on his blunder and still not getting it right.

Here is one of my sarcastic headlines about a seemingly racist gop not wanting to learn foreign sounding names. rod still love to think it proves racism on my part. But of course he is wrong.

Here is rod thinking that I wrote something about him in my thread, of course, I did not. He got it wrong.

Here is rod thinking I had used one of Kenny’s comments twice in the same thread, of course, I did not. He got it wrong.

Here is a great rod Gee graves prediction, multiple spelling errors and all, from the 2006 election. He was so wrong.

Prediction: GOP will retain controll of both chambers of Congress, handing the jackasses their fifth strait electoral loss in a row.

Ellinas: The problem is here that even when trying to be fair with rbb about this subject and trying to wait to get Garrick’s and Graves response so I could make a more fair and intelligent reply, rbb responded to my wanting to wait to reply by launching more attacks against me.

Many of us here, not based on conservative or neocon labels that you are applying in prejudice, simply felt rbb took Graves words far beyond what he was saying, primarily because of the extreme hatred between themselves and an entire day and over 100 comments were involved in what is personal animosity between them.

It is also, IMO, time for everyone to ignore their battles, not comment at all when they attack each other, ignore these spats and I assure you that it will soon go away. It grows and feeds on those willing to be sucked into their personal war.

Don’t you support the use of tax money for the maintenance of the market?

Don’t you understand that the social stability we enjoy here in the US is directly related to our public works, etc and that these people make money inside that stable environment?

They are thieves. Period, end of sentence. The firms who help them pull this off are accessories. They should have the pants fined off ‘em – IMHO.

Without taxes we would have a ‘wild west’ situation and profiting (or holding onto extant assets) in that sort of volatile situation is much more difficult.

    Kitty
Link? Do you have a link? No?

Also, if I am ever fined or taxed… I pay it. While I may disagree with certain taxation rates and certain uses of taxes, I am in this society. I am never going to find a country whose laws are custom tailored to me. Neither are Rob and these cowboy jockstraps who think, mistakenly, that they can have all the benefits and none of the drawbacks when it comes to profitability, social stability, and taxation rates.

    And so its a compromise.

At least I am not a deluded idealist who believes the situation is no more or less complex than it was in the 18th century.

Population density, increased sophistication of the ‘infrastructure’ of the market, and the complexity of inter-state relations mandate a tax intake that few GOPs would be willing to pay. They are being absurd in their demands.

When it comes to social programs, I do not see the analogy to Sweden. Sweden is small, smaller than many of the 50 states that are in this country. That makes the sort of social programs we are attempting to enact potentially significantly more insidious than Sweden. Do I, therefore, not support any social programs or any sort of healthcare which is universal and publicly sponsored? No. But I do think there are considerations of scale that are important which everyone neglects in their bogus metaphorical and analogical thinking.

If you have a healthcare program, for example, that is state-based… it is much closer to the population it is meant to deal with. This means that the ‘fit’ so to speak and the ‘representativeness’ of the program to the wishes of the population will be much tighter. The manner in which this country is split down the middle, sentiment-wise, makes considerations of scale all the more important. In effect, I feel that social programs are great, but I believe that its an issue for the states to sort out in a manner that is in close consort with, and fitted to, their respective populations. If Oklahoma doesn’t want that shit, so be it. If Massachusetts wants a fancy one, so be it. And so on and so on.

Even if this were the case, these douches would still be breaking the law and stealing from each and every one of their fellow citizens.

Questions about personal income taxes and 1916 and all of that are quite interesting… but only insofar as they can affect a realistic mandate for tax reform.

Hannitized, that doesn’t prove a thing and you know it.

Dems in uniform, rube, in uniform. He put a reference to Dem politicians in the parenthesizes.

Sorry rube, it’s you that has a problem reading.

Rbb, you can choose to interpret the words any way you want, but that’s clearly not what Rodney meant.

I’ll admit that I was a little taken aback when I first read it, but it’s obvious that Rodney worded his comment inartfully. Not that he has a problem with liberals who serve in uniform.

But whatever. Nobody has ever accused you of being interested in the truth.

You’ll note, too, Hannitized that initially in the original thread I said that I found Rodney’s comments to be despicable. But then it was pointed out by Carrick that boob had taken Rodney out of context.

And Carrick was right, so I changed my stance. Because the truth is the truth.

Rob, there is nothing taken out of context. You simply don’t have politicians in your company when you are in war.

Your apology for Rodney is transparent and pathetic.

Since I know how to read, and you apparently do not, I know that Rodney wasn’t talking about politicians literally going into battle side-by-side with soldiers.

At this point your dishonesty about Rodney’s comment reflects more poorly on you than anything Rodney has said.

If you see this today, please point out where I misquoted fuckwad graves.

You didn’t misquote him, you took him out of context.

There’s no denying this, and you should apologize.

That doesn’t apply to the rich. They’re just cows to be milked for the good of the proletariat.
