Anyone Else Getting Tired Of The Self-Righteous Get Out The Vote Ads From Celebrities?

Anyone else tired of seeing all these ads from celebrities telling people who think The Hills is premium entertainment to go out and vote?

Here’s one starring Jessica Alba and Hayden Panettiere:

You know what would be refreshing?  An ad telling people not to vote.  Or, at least, an ad saying “don’t vote” for the people who don’t follow politics and don’t know anything about Barack Obama except that all the celebrities like him and Oprah calls him “The One.”

I think maybe I should cut an ad like that.

“Hello, I’m Rob Port.  If you’re someone who doesn’t have a clue about politics, if you’re someone whose idea of insightful commentary is whatever Whoopi Goldberg said on The View that day (or what Chuck Norris said, for that matter), do us all a favor and don’t vote.  Your ignorance isn’t helping anyone.

Thanks.”

I think we should start a PAC and get this done.  We could call it “Americans Against the Politically Illiterate.”

Who’s with me?

Remember back to high school drama class./....
THe mis-fits & weirdo’s from there worked their way out to Hollywood.
They’ve made a living making folks think they’re someone or something that they’re not & call it “getting into character”
How do we even know this is their actual opinion & not just a community service requirement of their probation?

There actually were some celebrities encouraging young people not to vote during the Kerry/Bush election, the creators of South Park.  They took a lot of criticism for it from both sides, pretty stupid considering their point was don’t vote if you don’t like either of the candidates…

I won’t be voting for Governor of North Dakota because there’s no one I can vote for that doesn’t want to take my income and assets and use them to buy votes from greedy, lazy slackers!148bhs.jpg

Not John McCain.  Or Barack Obama.

I’ll be sitting this election out.

The Republicans strategy is based on limiting voting.  They sued in Ohio to stop same day registration.

And one really doesn’t need to wonder much.....especially when the democrat-controlled election committee refuses to allow election observers at the new “polling” place.
What they, through jimmy carter, insist is required to certify elections in the various african elections is suddenly not allowed in America?
All the more reason to require valid, current photo identification to vote.
