Anti-Semitic Iranian Dictator Gets Ovations, Hugs At United Nations

Sigh…

The United Nations gives a friendly forum and pulpit for the rantings of racist, anti-Democrat thugs like Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez.  America gives more money to the United Nations than any other nation on earth.

Anyone else seeing a problem with this?

Comments

The Democrats don’t. They believe we should give more money and listen even more to these people.

“Change” and “Hope”.

Wonder what Europe would be like if Hitler were alive today? Hell, he would be one of the biggest reciepatants of UN/American money, and Russia would be tied at his hip.

How has Chavez been anti-democratic? He has not yet passed any legislation that is anywhere near as anti-liberty as the Patriot Acts.

Why is the USA still affiliated with the UN? Yikes!

Let’s see, Hugo Chavez, ex soldier turned politician, jailed for a failed coup against the elite of his own country, wins elections by stifling the competition, wants to change the constitution of his country to get rid of term limits and consolidate his power, sound familiar anyone?

Yes. I do. Are you suggesting and or saying that because of the money we give to the UN we should be getting free blow jobs?
Or are we buying influence, and the sellers are not delivering such goods? Which is it?

And McCain isn’t?

Wow I see what your problem is. You are an elitist.
Fuck the common man, the elite in your mind is sacrosant and benevolent and should not be messed with. Nice going.

ellinas on September 29, 2008 at 07:49 pm

This “elite” were also taking nearly all the economic benefits from the nation’s oil wealth for themselves while over half the country lived in poverty.

Not the American style: “only one family car instead of three” kind of poverty, but the “how can I feed my feed my children?” kind.

Poverty rates are dropping and Venezuela has never been more democratic but, because Chavez isn’t a subscriber to the Free Market religion, he is vilified.

Never been more democratic?

You might try selling that bridge to the folks who work at the radio/television stations Chavez shut down.

No, that’s incorrect, for starters their VHF license expired (and it wasn’t renewed as the frequencies went to a PB station.

Second, they weren’t shut down, they kept broadcasting via satellite. The station in question, and it’s owners, were linked to the failed right-wing coup to install a “Free Market” dictator. The conspirators were lucky that they didn’t have to face a firing squad for treason.
Hugo Chavez chose to take the moral high-ground (he’s a staunch Christian and maybe he actually read the part of the Bible about forgiveness) and not press for treason charges. Also Venezuela was one of the first countries to abolish the death penalty, over 100 years ago.

You might have known this if you didn’t rely on that evil left-wing MSM for your information.

Care to try again?

No, we didn’t shut down their newspaper! We just kicked them out of the building and gave their presses to someone else! They’re not out of the printing business! They still hand out fliers by the subway! Sheesh!

I think “shut down” is an apt description.

Update on Venezuela - they went from being a net energy exporter to having rolling blackouts.

“Democratic” socialism strikes again.

The “reality based” left should be begging for forgiveness while learning from Hugo Chavez’s failures. But with the left, ideology trumps reality.

What’s your point. We have rolling blackouts in California.
