Anti-Chris Christie Group Won’t Reveal Donors
As President Obama and the Pelosicrats push the intent of the defeated DISCLOSE Act via executive order and constantly harp on the need for transparency, an anti-Chrisite group called OneNJ refuses to reveal its donors. Although, I can report that there is at least one honest Democrat in New Jersey calling out her fellow travelers.
A veteran Democrat is calling on One New Jersey, a nonprofit created to combat Gov. Chris Christie, to disclose its donors.
The Democrat, Sen. Loretta Weinberg of Bergen County, said she agrees with the nonprofit’s mission, but says the decision to keep its contributors secret is “completely wrong and should be immediately corrected.”
New Jersey Democrats cried like a bunch of babies when a pro-Christie group, as allowed by law, kept its donor roll secret. As a result, the pro-Christie group voluntarily disclosed its donors. But the anti-Christie group, well, it’s not following suit.
The creation of One New Jersey has left Democrats open to charges of hypocrisy, since several assailed Christie’s association with Reform Jersey Now, an organization created to support the governor’s agenda.
Both groups are 501(c)(4) issue-advocacy organizations, and can accept unlimited contributions from corporations and individuals without disclosing their donors.
Reform Jersey Now voluntarily disclosed its contributors in December, but One New Jersey has no plans to do so. (emphasis mine)
My guess is that OneNJ has very little actual NJ-based fire power and it is largely funded by large national groups such as big labor unions and Soros-type foundations.
