Another Victory For Socialized Medicine

Just think, one day when a Barrack Obama or Hillary Clinton or John Edwards gets their way and we have national health care and then some bureaucrat decides that it’s in the best interest of public health to give crack addicts free crack, you’ll get to pay for the crack.

NANAIMO, B.C. (CP) - The mayor of Nanaimo is furious that Vancouver Island’s Health Authority is handing out free “crack kits” to drug users in the city.

The kits are to be used as a harm-reduction strategy, but Mayor Gary Korpan calls the program unethical and immoral. Korpan asks if the program is good medicine, then why are organizers trying to hide it?

I’ve read stories like this before where the government provides drugs to addicts and I’ve always wondered...when the government buys crack or heroin or something, where exactly do they buy it from?  Do they set up some drug lab in a government building somewhere?  They must, because I can’t imagine them sending some bureaucrat down to the street corner to buy some hits off the friendly neighborhood pusher.

Kind of a weird thing to think of.

I don’t know about crack, but the federal gummint grows some sooper-dooper marijuana, which it dispenses to people who were granted “medical use” licenses some years ago.  I saw a news piece on it within the last year or so.  A dood was smoking a dog leg-sized blunt in front of the White House and showed the camera his fed ID allowing him to toke up;.

Come over here to the UK where they will pay for your expensive therapy and drugs to stop smoking, but refuse to pay for the cancer treatment that some people need (non-smoking related cancer).

I can give you a million gajillion (my new fave number) reasons that socialised medicine does not work.

I am soooo happy to be moving back to the USA where I can control how much contribution I pay for my medical care, and I can decide who I want to be in charge of my healthcare, in clean hospitals.

The Geneva: Bravo! Well said!

I prefer godjillion, it refers to a degree of wealth only God could possess.

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.
