Another Shocking Revelation About The Palins: Bristol’s Fiancee Fined For Illegal Fishing

The Palin-bashing is starting to get a little absurd as the spotlight turns to young Bristol Palin’s fiancee.

Besides his hard play on the ice, Levi Johnston was also a bit of hell-raiser off it - another reason Bristol may have been smitten.

State troopers popped Johnston last year for snagging some King salmon out of season in Moose Lake, records from Alaska wildlife enforcement show. He had to pay $370 bail.

As a native Alaskan I can tell you that snag-fishing king salmon, while illegal, is considered more of a rite of passage than a crime.

Anyway, on a related note, anyone else getting the feeling that this “day of bad news about the Palins” was orchestrated by the McCain campaign specifically to get all this stuff out of the way so that the campaign and the news coverage of it wouldn’t be dragged down by a drip-drip-drip of sensationalized “scandal?”

Seems plausible to me.

Why not?!  McCain was obviously shrewd enough to choose Palin in the first place. and its equally clear that Obama and the MSM are going along, oblivious that they are being played.

What a clever plan.

Throw anything and everything to try and get something to stick is what they are trying to do.

Not just in Alaska.

Hell used ot do salmon snagging myself as a kid (long time ago), also used to chase Salmon upstream by throwing rocks behind them to spook them in the right direction to a rapids I knew about (water thinnned to les than a foot for a small stretch).

Then I would race to the rapids and as they swam the rapids I would kick them out to shore.

Salmon Chowder was always a favorite of mine.......

We ate so much salmon when I was a kid that I can’t eat it any more.

Shout-out to WOOF for demonstrating what the “party of compassion” really means.

it means hate-filled bile and empty rhetoric.

A small game infraction will actually garner the kid support in this neck of the woods!

I could care less what the leftard drag up on Palin, that means they are scared. If Obama minions want to go down that road it will not look good for him.

The attacks from the right on Palin are starting to look no different than those coming from the left.

Although this is just down right silly all the way around!!  I remember that egging the police station on Halloween was a right of passage.  Of course, we had to clean the danged thing up the next day if caught ... but it was good clean fun all the way around.  I learned respect for law enforcement with the lesson :D

$370.00 seems a bit harsh for a fishing infraction.  In fact, depriving a man of his liberty for snagging a salmon out of season is positively tyrannical.  The most it should have been was a ticket, but that’s the sad state of our nation today: No sensical measures of justice, and you must pay for any good clean fun you have. Pitiful.

Our right of passage here in Texas is jack-lighting deer.  Totally silent if you use a bow, but major bonus points for using a firearm in the suburbs. ;^) Since whitetails are at the level of an infestation in the Hill Country, there ought to be a bounty on the darned things.  LOL!

Oh, burning magnesium engine blocks in campfires is also a seriously redneck-tech form of entertainment.  Since the county I live in is almost six times the size of Rhode Island and has a population of ±12K (RI has 4.5M !), there are plenty of places to indulge and not a LEO for miles.

Bottom line: I like the guy, even if he does ice skate and didn’t jack-light a moose in downtown Juneau.

As for the frenzied muckraking attempts by the leftards, I think they are indeed being suckered into a trap.  Palin’s selection has completely changed the mood of the country for the better - my admittedly anecdotal evidence suggests this, anyway - and it’s actually nice to see the far left exposed for the insane freakazoids they are.  I just don’t think the majority of the electorate is in any mood to listen to those skuz-buckets anymore.

Busted for illegal fishing. Thats the best they got?

This"Levi Johnston, an 18-year-old self-described “f---in’ redneck,” is my favorite part of the whole article!

I assume they ate those salmon, so big deal. This is equivalent to driving 5 miles over the speed limit. Native American Indians in Wisconsin annually spear walleyes in the spring and then toss away hundreds of fish in the woods just because they can.

All those “rumors” that he is 24 years old are reeeeeally going to throw off the Dems! HA!
