Another Reason To Hate France
On Dec. 9, 1981, Mumia Abu-Jamal, a 27-year-old unemployable Philadelphia radio journalist,
cowardly shot a uniformed cop in the back, twice, and then viciously shot the wounded officer in the face as he lay helpless on the ground. He did so in front of several eyewitnesses. Three of them positively identified Mumia as the cop-killer at the crime scene within minutes of the execution. A racially-mixed jury found Mumia guilty and sentenced him to death more than two decades ago. Every state and federal court with jurisdiction has held that he's guilty and has had a fair trial.Abu-Jamal was convicted of killing police officer Daniel Faulkner more than twenty years ago yet he has continued to cheat the death penalty by his amazing emergence as a darling for the leftist media. His case has been made into a statement against the death penalty, though why anti-death-penalty activists would choose a cold blooded murderer to champion is anyone's guess.
The purpose of the French celebration was also to protest the death penalty. Unfortunately, they went much too far. A medal was even awarded to Abu-Jamal's representative, Angela Davis. Davis, self-described as the "last great icon of the black liberation movement" is also
an ex-Black Panther.People seem to get so wound up in protesting something that they lose their common sense. Mumia Abu-Jamal killed an innocent man, in cold blood. He did it without showing any remorse. If you want to fight against the death penalty then lobby to get the law changed. Don't do it by interfering with a guilty man's punishment.
