Another Obama Nominee Withdraws Over Tax Problems

Geithner. Daschle. And now “chief performance officer” nominee Nancy Killefer.

NBC News has learned that the president’s choice for “chief performance officer” — technically a deputy OMB director post — could end up having to withdraw over a number of issues, including tax problems. The withdrawal of Nancy Killefer could happen as soon as today. So far the White House has no comment on the situation.

Three nominees with tax problems? This is bordering on absurd.

Is it just an impression on my part, or is the underside of the obamabus disproportionately populated with women?

    Taxes are for little people.

I say tricks because so far as I have seen this has been nothing more than a circus and a bad one at that.

    Greetings:

Don’t tell me that President Obama actually nominated someone who has read Joseph Conrad’s “Lord Jim”?

  • Kidtransport

Now that Daschle has withdrawn his name, will he get his money back? What a bummer! Over $100,000.00 for an appointment that could not be confirmed.

  • sayanything-2407

What the hell is a chief performance officer? And what the hell does it do??

I wonder what else she has hidden………

Dino asked “What would happen if no one paid their taxes?” Now we know. They either apologize or get thrown under the bus (OR not NOR for the dorky inclined).

Is the bus option gender specific? We can’t know yet, however we will have several years to compile data. There’s some interesting wording coming from The Big O, calling women ‘sweety’ etc which might be indicative. We’ll see.

He better continue to monitor all of his appointees’ tax records. When taxes go up, there is more “fudging” and “forgetting”, especially by people who think they can’t be touched.

  • http://www.dartemis.net/blog/ sayanything-42

That’s well across the border into absurd.

Note that it’s the woman who thrown under the bus as well.

  • Wookiebush

I guess the reason she is not going to get a pass like new treasury secretary or dashel is that because of her sex. It seems that the dems and Obambi have alot of problems accepting women. Maybe they all hate women.

You are kidding of course. If they got rid of all Republican tax offenders, they would deplete the party for good.

The ones brought to light have been Democrats, not republicans.

  • pparets

Sanity… a Chief Performance Officer is someone who sits behind a desk. What he/she does is collect a fat paycheck as a political ‘thank you’ from the appointer.

  • http://www.willisms.com/ Zsa Zsa

Hmmmm? Maybe taxes are too high as it is? You would think the Lib Dems would get the hint.

  • docdave

Doesn’t Obama vet these people before he picks them. What could be easier than to ask them ‘Have you always paid your taxes?’ Then again considering his past and present associates, he may be incapable of picking someone with a clean record.

  • Kidtransport

The Dems seem to have bad memories and and mo appreciation of right and wrong–Starting at the top. Can’t find his birht cert., doesn’t remember having much to do with Bill Ayers, never worked for Acorn, never heard those racist comments of Pastor J.Wright when he was in his church for 20 years,(probably indicative of how often “O” was in the pew listening) Forgetting what taxes are due and when is really not that hard to believe. Hey they are paying up their back taxes and interest. Isn’t that part of the ticket price to cabinet posts?

Poor ole gal, she looks like a deer caught in the headlights.
Obama looks like poor ole hound dog, that could not sniff up a skunk.

He better start nominating Republicans, apparently we still pay our taxes!

These are the same people that defend the federal income tax, dismiss any claims that it’s too cumbersome, and villify anyone who they decide isn’t paying “their fair share.”

    Hope! Change!

  • Bat One

For those of you wondering why it is that Team Obama has not called to offer you a position in Washington, you are obviously disqualified by the fact that you actually pay your taxes.

And the media claimed that Palin wasn’t properly vetted before selection as VP candidate…

  • sayanything-2407

I think all politicians should be auditted to see if they are up to date on thier taxes, especially if they are talking of raising taxes.

I have to give Obama props though, since being elected to office he has gotten three democrats to pay thier deelinquent taxes that most likely never would have.

What the hell is a chief performance officer? And what the hell does it do??

  • http://suitepotato.blogspot.com/ sayanything-4808

If they wanted to prove how noble they are, they’d all submit themselves to the IRS for audits and make a public to-do over it.
