Another Civil War Looms In Lebanon – Hezbollah Declares The Lebanese Army An Enemy

The Syrian/Iranian backed terrorist organization Hezbollah is stirring the pot again in Lebanon.
They’ve sent armed thugs into the streets and are blocking the main roads in Beirut, essentially shutting down the city. Today they decided that the Lebanese Army, once considered an ally, is now an enemy because they’re not as ideologically aligned with them as they should be. In other words, the Lebanese Army isn’t a group of pychopathic killers who want the overthrow of the Lebanese government and a return of Lebanon to the seventh century.
Gateway Pundit has much more including the obligatory “we are going to open the gates of hell” to the Lebanese government comments by Hezbollah.
The Islamists will not stop until they are stamped out like a disease. They will destroy anything and anyone that gets in their way or who doesn’t submit. Civilization means absolutely nothing to them.
Europe should be watching this very closely. It’s a preview of things to come if they don’t get a grip, and soon.

bat one, thanks for reminding me. I will have to tune in and watch that interview, (I will be done with finals then!!!). And your last point is all the more reason to increase our drilling and refining capacity in the U.S.

    Bat,

I think we will see $200 a barrel oil by this time next year regardless of who is president. None of these candidates have a firm economic plan. Toss in Iran’s desire to create havoc and the stability of oil futures is dim.

Maybe hezbollah is feeling left out and is trying to angle their way for a photoshoot with Jimmy Carter.

This is why we absolutely must stay in Iraq. And why the Iranian Mullahs will do almost anything to force the US to withdraw.

Dick Morris was on O’Reilly’s show this evening, and after commenting on Obama’s apparent win over Hillary, and O’Reilly’s excellent interview with Mrs. Clinton last week, he was asked to offer some questions for O’Reilly’s interview tomorrow with John McCain.

Morris suggested that McCain should be asked how McCain would react to a preemptive strike by Israel (presumably under the premiership of Bibi Netanyahu) against Iran this fall before the US election.

The loss of Lebanon to Hezbollah, Syria, and ultimately Iran, would put Israel in grave danger, and put enormous pressure on Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states as well.

If you are discomforted by $123 per barrel for crude and $3.65 for a gallon of gas, imagine what $200 oil and $6.50 gas will feel like!

  • Bat One

Speaking of illicit sexual adventures at the workplace, Bob, whatever happened to that “long” list of Clinton’s anti-terror and nuclear non-proliferation accomplishments you said you were going to offer up? Got a URL?

I know you said you’d posted it, but that was just some much BS to cover the fact that there were no such accomplishments to list in the first place. Clinton must have been too busy doing something, or someone, else.

  • Bat One

    Mickey,

You’re right about the future of oil, of course. Toss in the fact that new drilling will take time, and the next president, who will likely have but a single term tenure, could be in and out of office long before we see any significant increase in supply to offset the ever-increasing demand.

As for economics, you’re right again. None of the candidates has a clue. Obama least of all.

Maybe Jimmy Carter should have secured “Peace in out time” with Hezbollah rather than Hamas.

Nice to see you two still support the phone sex falafel pervert 10 mil out of court settling loofa boy porn book writing, Billow.

And a hat tip to Dick the prostitute toe sucker Morris to boot!

Conservatives do tend to stick together.

Maybe Jimmy Carter should have secured “Peace in out time” with Hezbollah rather than Hamas.

    patriotic,

Hezbollah was founded by the Iranian Mullahs and is merely an arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Their supplies, weapons, and direction come from Tehran.

Jimmy Carter, of course, was the one who betrayed his “good friend” the Shah of Iran and all but invited the radical Islamist Mullahs to take over the country, and then stood by like a helpless capon when they invaded the US embassy and held the US diplomatic personnel hostage for 444 days.

Carter’s presence on the international stage, both in and out of office, has been an unmitigated disaster for the US. I’m still waiting for someone to demonstrate convincingly that Barack Obama doesn’t offer more of the very same Cartesque impotence and failure.

  • Bat One

    Dougee,

Good luck with your finals! O’Reilly does not have the same sort of self-deprecating savoir faire that Rush enjoys, so his self-promotion tends to be less smooth and at ease and more grating and discomforting. But as the Hillary interview shows, he can be very good when focused on someone else. The McCain interview should be very interesting (witness Dick Morris’ suggested question), and I’d like to see if Obama has the stones to submit himself to and O’Reilly interview… without the teleprompter. He’s a fool if he doesn’t.

I called this one last September. Iran is further destabilizing Lebanon through their surrogates. Hizzbullah has never accepted any elected government as having authority over them. Their immediate build up, with support from from Iran and Syria, after last summer’s destruction of their munitions and weapons stocks was a clear indication of what was coming. The UN not only turned a blind eye, they tacitly assisted by blocking anyone from getting solid ground intel on the build up.

The Lebanese Army’s actions against Hizzbullah in the north of Lebanon was also resisted by the UN and was yet another clear indication of the course Hizzbullah was walking all along.

Barack is a latter day Jimmy Carter regarding foreign policy:

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” – BO – ‘The Audacity of Hope,’
    (book published in 2006).

By the way, the facts in your post are unimpeachable.

I don’t know guys. If it’s Barry Glibbs doing the sending,
in this situation, he might send ole Jimmah. ‘Course Jimmah would have to brush up on his communication skills. That and maybe get rid of the translator sportin’ the balaklava and the AK-47. Jimmah could get the message across…….across somewhere……sometime……some message….some message that might make sense.

I dunno goon, Obama said he was willing to invade Pakistan. He seems to take a somewhat “bi” approach in that regard as he appears willing to swing from either side of the “plate”.

Just what we need, spart, a loose cannon for our president.

  • http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ goon

I wounder waht Obama wold do about this situation? I can’t wait to hear his big speech on how he would solve all the Middle Easts problems BY TALKING TO THEM.

  • Spartacus

I dunno goon, Obama said he was willing to invade Pakistan. He seems to take a somewhat “bi” approach in that regard as he appears willing to swing from either side of the “plate”. Although the closer he appears to getting the party nomination, the more ghey his rhetoric becomes.

Thanks bat one, one of my buddies got me hooked on O’Reilly last year and I watch almost every night. I agree, the Hillary interview was very good and I am looking forward to see what questions he asks McCain.

A good summary of events can be found here. It certainly could get very ugly very quickly.
