Anger Is Bubbling To The Surface On The Right And The Left Is Calling It Hatred
Something may be happening here that could be the far left’s worst nightmare.
When the left has its little temper tantrums, voices threats, attacks people in the streets, middle America tends to watch them in a somewhat bemused way, shake their heads at the abysmal stupidity of the mask wearing anarchists and the Code Pink buffon’s clownery, and go back to their lives, their jobs, their families.
What happens when the conservative right stops doing that and begins to respond to the left’s violence and intimidation tactics with anger instead of tolerance?
We may be seeing the tip of that very iceberg right now.
People are becoming angry with the way the media is blatantly siding with the far left. They’re angry at the so-called “conservative” political candidates who are letting things slide that would crucify a Republican candidate. Recently some of the folks at a McCain rally spoke up very clearly and expressed just that. As a result the McCain campaign has started to hit at the press and at Obama, much to the chagrin of some.
The left’s reaction has been swift: You people are haters.
One congressman, Georgia Democrat John Lewis said that McCain reminded him of George Wallace and blasted his campaign as full of hate:
In a statement issued Saturday, Lewis said McCain and running mate Sarah Palin were “sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.” He noted that Wallace also ran for president.
Frank Rich of the New York Times compares the people speaking out to the Germans of the last century:
What makes them different, and what has pumped up the Weimar-like rage at McCain-Palin rallies, is the violent escalation in rhetoric, especially (though not exclusively) by Palin. Obama “launched his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist.” He is “palling around with terrorists” (note the plural noun). Obama is “not a man who sees America the way you and I see America.” Wielding a wildly out-of-context Obama quote, Palin slurs him as an enemy of American troops.
And that almighty imbecile Maureen Dowd is so disturbed by what’s going on she’s comparing us to ancient Rome and babbling Latin.
The list goes on and on.
The left and their media sock puppets seem to be taken aback that the right is beginning to speak out. And - they should be. They’ve grown used to being able to get away with any level of stupidity, any degree of disruption in the name of protest, while the right quietly goes on with their business.
This is scaring the hell out of them.
Their absolute worst nightmare would be if the right responded to them in kind. If the silent majority suddenly became not so silent. The very idea is frightening to the left - so they call it hate while ignoring the vicious hatred that oozes from the left every single day. It’s easier, after all, to label conservatives as hate filled racists and bigots than it is to admit that their own actions have begun to push the right into a corner - and there will be no choice but to fight back.
Well, take a look around. There’s something happening here, some disturbance in the force. Not much so far, but it could be the tip of a very, very big iceberg.
And if it is, the left should be very afraid. It’s a sleeping giant they really don’t want to wake.
