And So It Begins: Democrat Calls Palin “Affirmative Action Pick”

And here you thought affirmative action is a good thing.

Let me be clear about something: If John McCain picked Sarah Palin simply because she’s a woman that would be a wrong and insulting decision.  But I don’t think he did.  I think he picked Palin because she’s a staunch conservative and a young up-and-coming Republican star who compliments his more wintered appearance.

But setting that aside for a moment, what does this “affirmative action” line mean if we examine it more closely?  That people who accept assistance from affirmative action programs don’t really deserve to succeed?  That affirmative action policies, which mandate decision making based on things like skin color and gender, is wrong?

If liberals are thinking that about Palin right now maybe they’re finally getting a taste for how conservatives have felt about affirmative action for a long time now.  Which isn’t to say that Palin deserves to be called an “affirmative action pick.” She doesn’t.  But this does illustrate how utterly bereft of principle the left is.

I think they’re scared to death.

Americans invented the term bullshit as far as I know, and we can smell it a mile off.

We ALSO know when someone has genuinely “got it” and she does, and THEY know it too!

They better not mess with this woman.... I have a feeling they will be VERY surprised to find that she has a REAL foundation of beliefs that will not budge. (And that goes for the country club Republicans as well)

“Funny” how God sends people along at just the right time, isn’t it… smile

It also illustrates the double standard of the lefties.  Of course, so-called “affirmative action” is really a faction-based quota system for perpetrating revenge on imagined “oppressors”, so her pick could not possibly be “affirmative action”, but it shows their thinking.

The only legitimate role of government with regard to economics is to prevent fraud and provide a remedy- civil and criminal penalties- in case of fraud.

People have the mistaken notion that the free market has no rules.  But it most certainly does.  All our problems are due to government meddling.

As opposed to Barack Obama, who was… an affirmative action candidate.

McCain’s pick of Palin as VP is so transparent.

Transparent?  In what way?  That he picked a qualified candidate that has a lot of Americans excited?

You bet your ass it was transparent.
