America, Say Hello To Senator Franken

It’s finally over for Norm Coleman. And now, America is stuck with the world’s angriest washed-up comic in the Senate for at least six years.

(CNN) — Minnesota’s Supreme Court has dismissed former Sen. Norm Coleman’s challenge to the state’s November election results and declared Democratic challenger Al Franken the winner.

Depressing, but inevitable I think. The way Minnesota’s election officials handled this situation is atrocious, with some ballots counting but other ballots not counting for inexplicable reasons. It was so close a coin toss probably would have been more fair, but for better or worse Franken is the winner. And, really, while getting Franken in the Senate isn’t exactly good news it’s not like Norm Coleman was any sort of principled conservative.
Let’s hope the end result is someone reviewing Minnesota’s election laws and they way they were applied to this situation.

Do you have some facts to back up your statements R108 or are you flailing about because a democrat took that senate seat?

Did you even bother to read the opinion? There were five issues that Coleman brought to the court. Coleman didn’t prevail on a single issue, not one. The justices didn’t find any credible legal argument or facts to support his contentions. Nothing, nada, zip.

Now if you have some facts to support your assertion about recounts and manufacturing votes, I’d love to hear them and so would Coleman.

Coleman lost to a wrestler and a comedian. Time for him to move on.

  • djer

Chief, I suppose then you could argue that every election is stolen if what you wrote is your standard.

Funny tho how it is always when it is a democrat that you make that charge and not the republicans.

    I’m just sayin…..

  • robert108

Coleman won the election, then liar Franken started in with the phony “recounts”, manufacturing votes as he went along.
This is how dishonest politicians like Franken and Gore steal elections. Gore failed to steal his election, but Franken succeeded.

  • djer

Oh, and Chief, the OJ trial was done by a jury, not a judge making the decision. I think he is guilty as well, but the jury didn’t. That is our system.

Oh, and this one was a doosy:

One great innocent man was crucified in one based on lies.

Quite a comparison to the Franken election.

  • rog

He will humiliate himself in no time at all. It could be fun to watch

  • robert108

Funny tho how it is always when it is a democrat that you make that charge and not the republicans.

The Dems serial election fraud, which goes back, on the national level, to JFK’s stolen election, is well-known, so it’s not “funny” to describe the truth. Like the totalitarians they are, Dems are willing to go to any lengths to win, and America loses as a result.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

Coleman won the election, then liar Franken started in with the phony “recounts”, manufacturing votes as he went along.

Of course that is a lie.

Because the vote count margin was less than one-half of 1 percentage point, the states’ automatic recount clause went into effect.

Coleman failed at every step of the way and was ordered to pay some of Franken’s legal bills.

After months of Norman’s wankery, the good people of Minnesota finally have 2 senators to represent them in our Senate.

  • http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ goon

Yep. More bitter sore loser whining.

Of course Franken stole the election just like Obama and all the other dems. I mean, republicans did such a good job when they had control who could have voted against them?

    Ah, the arrogance of conservatism

    You’re a fucken idiot.

  • robert108

Coleman won the election, then liar Franken started in with the phony “recounts”, manufacturing votes as he went along.

Any facts to refute that statement? Coleman won. Fact. Somehow, Franken came up with votes that hadn’t been cast before, by using the usual leftie cheating tricks. In some districts, more votes were counted than there were voters. Different standards were used for counting Coleman votes than were used for counting Franken votes. All facts.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

djer. You and I have seen this type of results before. I saw it in communist elections in USSR and their slave countries. We see it now in Iran. We saw it in other elections before.
A noted writer documented quite a few “stolen” elections. You are correct, no “proof” in a court of law. I have seen what happens in courts of law. One great innocent man was crucified in one based on lies. This happens more often than we would like to admit.

It depends on what your definition of is is.

if the Democrats can’t push their agenda now that they have an unchalengable lock on both parts of the legislative and ownership of the executive, then they truly are rank incompetants.

Reminds me of the first two years of the Clinton administration: They controlled the House, the Senate and the White House, but it was only after the Republicans retook the House that the Dems decided that they needed to raise the minimum wage!

These clowns are going to have to take ownership of everything they do. The MSM can only paper over so much of it for them!

  • Seth

Thought of the day: if the Democrats can’t push their agenda now that they have an unchalengable lock on both parts of the legislative and ownership of the executive, then they truly are rank incompetants. Not that that would be so bad…

    Here’s hoping for amature hour.

    Obama inherited a bush/gop Pelosi/Reid recession.

    There! Fixed it for you!

  • conundrum

108, Were Coleman’s lawyers just incompetent?

  • FedUp

Just one more clown for the circus! Let the games begin!

  • sayanything-5371

It’s a real victory and gives you a lot of credibility when you are elected by dead people in a recount. Is Minnesota proud of Franken? Doubt it.

  • Buzz

    And don’t forget………THAT’S 60!!!!!

  • Farm4$

Attn. MN hunters, do not come here to hunt this fall. For the next six years NO MN hunters will be allowed to hunt on my property. Oh, I forgot, you folks from MN will not be hunting anymore, you will be turning all of your guns into the government. Good for you, and stay home and wait for your government handouts.

sore looser, maybe, but i don’t care, it is my right and so far ‘O blame a’ has not taken that away. Any state with people stupid enough to elect Al Frankinstine has people who are too stupid to carry a loaded gun on my property.

BTW, a bastard is a fatherless child, or is also called illegitimate. I feel Franken is illegitimate so can I now call him the ‘bastard senator from MN’ (and for you dumb asses from the left, before you go nuts, the bastard senator from MN line is a joke)

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/ likwidshoe

Those who hate this country were rooting for Franken to win.

    That’s gotta tell you something…

Franken is no more liberal than either Sens. Conrad or Dorgan …

At least dorgan and conrad are mentally stable.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/america_is_back/#c397018 DINO

Reminds me of the first two years of the Clinton administration:

With one MAJOR difference. Back then, republicans hadn’t had complete control of the government for decades. This time around, people know who controlled ALL OF IT leading up to the Great Depression of 2009.

With their retirement savings decimated, their house values declining and their lot in life shrinking, the bottom 90% won’t be trusting the republicans for GENERATIONS. Only the hardcore stems will provide the republicans with loyal support.

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

He will humiliate himself in no time at all. It could be fun to watch

Yes, but his humiliation affects us. While everyone talks about how the election of Jimmy Carter gave us Reagan…it’s worth noting that Reagan fixed hardly any of the damage done by Carter…damage we still feel to this day.

His humilation is our pain. Literally.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/america_is_back/#c397018 DINO

It’s going to be hard to wipe away those decades of republican dominance and pretend it’s 1994 again.

Good luck with that. If the dems are smart and harsh enough (something I often doubt) their 2010 and 2012 campaigns will be filled with reminders of whose policies took us down the road to ruin.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

The Great REPUBLICAN Depression of 2009

Yeah. Right! With a Dem in the White House, a sixty vote majority in the Senate and Dem control of the House, 2009 will go down in history as what the Democrats make it. You’re gloating over who gets credit for destroying the country too soon!

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/america_is_back/#c397018 DINO

Correction. The Great REPUBLICAN Depression of 2009. The second one in a century.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Djer. I also saw the Florida Supreme Court rule 8-1 or 9-0. The US Supreme court overturned them. It was so obviously biased that my opinion of judges went down to almost zero. I also saw the OJ “trial”. I am wondering if he will admit his crime on this deathbed.

Locally, I have seen justice denied as well as upheld. Lie Detectors are not accurate.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

    Obama inherited a bush/gop recession.

He will be credited for either getting us out or keeping us in it.

  • http://reaganiterepublicanresistance.blogspot.com/ Reaganite Republican

Are they really going to make this guy a senator?

Franken’s radio show was a flop because few wanted to hear his boring anti-American drivel, but that didn’t stop the DNC from putting this bozo on the ballot. And they were going to do the same for Chris Tingle Matthews until polls revealed widespread revulsion at the thought.

Then Team Obama and their MSM allies mocked mere “entertainer” Rush Limbaugh for having significant influence in the GOP. The DNC even ran TV ads to trash him… when he’s never even thought about running for office, to the best of my knowledge.

So a failed entertainer’s OK for Democratic Senator… but a successful conservative one isn’t even allowed to have influence? -please

    the Great Depression of 2009.

    Obama inherited a bush/gop recession.

Using cause and effect reasoning, please list any and all economic policies of President Bush that were recessionary.
If you can’t, you are just parroting the usual leftie talking points.

  • Pilgrim

    Gak.

Actually, it may be a good thing. When he starts making a liberal ass of himself (and he will)in the national spotlight it just may help undecideds and independants to swing away from the left.

    Looking for that silver lining.

  • djer

I see Robert 108 has been unable to provide any substantiated facts to support his conclusions about the election, so let’s use language that Robert 108 can understand:

Using cause and effect reasoning, please list any and all elction specifics that were fraudulent or could be classified as “election stealing” or “leftie cheating tricks”. Please provide actual data to support your contention.

If you can’t, you are just parroting the usual rightie talking points.

  • John B.

Franken is no more liberal than either Sens. Conrad or Dorgan … and North Dakotans have kept re-electing them for over 20 years. Kinda hard to point our fingers at Minnesotans for their lack of judgment.

  • 2Hotel9

So, djerk, where did all those votes that did not exist on election day come from?

  • conundrum

whining at its best. The lawful process was followed. If you feel the election was stolen, blame incompetant lawyers for Coleman and you might as well call all the election officials, and Judges liars and crooks. It obviously was a liberal conspiracy. If that was the case show the proof: what was taken , who took it and how come it wasn’t stopped.

  • djer

please provide facts and data that show that what happened in Minnesota was “election stealing” or “leftie cheating tricks”.

Those votes did exist on election day. They election had to be certified and absentees counted.

So I’ll be waiting for your specifics instead of emotional blathering.

  • JimH

    Hello, commie rat bastard.

  • 2Hotel9

Where did all those votes that did not exist on election day, were not turned in on or prior to, election day? The absentee ballots are an entirely different matter. Where did all the votes come from that did not exist on election day. You told us that electronic voting was the securest manner in which to have elections. And yet, 30 days after the elections all those electronic ballots appeared. SHAZAM! Where did they come from.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

    And don’t forget………THAT’S 60!!!!!

And with the addition of Franken to the Senate, sixty is the new average IQ of Senate Dems! Heh.

  • djer

Who said they didn’t exist on election day? And you lie when you say I said that electronic voting was the most secure manner in which to have elections.

Once again, you throw crap hoping something sticks. The court looked at all of Colemans issues and he didn’t prevail on any issue not with the facts nor with the law.

So unless you have actual proof of what you are talking about, I suggest you go shovel some of your coal!

Coleman didn’t win. Fact. Election certified according to the minnesota state law. Fact. Coleman appealed. Fact. Supreme court reviewed law de novo. Fact. Coleman lost on all five issues he argued before the court. Fact. Coleman lost 5-0. Fact.

    With one MAJOR difference.

Blah, blah, blah. Poor Dino can’t accept any facts that don’t fit his narrow view of evil conservatism!

  • JuneBug

Republicans have no one to blame but themselves as they tried to be like Democrats with out of control spending and turned off the independent conservatives and now look where we are. I do however think that just because they have 60 members (remember 2 are independent and while they vote with the Democrats most of the time, technically they aren’t Democrats), I think that Lieberman is an independent thinker and may rally against some of the more radical liberal agenda. WIth this vote, socialism is closer than we think thanks to the Republicans.
