Almost 6% Of All American Jobs Created In June Were Created In North Dakota
Creating 6% of all jobs nationally doesn’t sound impressive, but let’s do some of the math.

Preliminary estimates indicate North Dakota employment expanded on a year-over-year basis in June 2012. Employers reported an estimated 26,300 more jobs when compared to a year ago, a 6.6 percent gain.
The not-seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate sits at 3.2%. The seasonally-adjusted rate for June was 2.9%.
Jobs were up 1.2% over May (an increase of 4,707 jobs) but, as the release notes, they were up 6.6% over June 2011.
Nationally the economy added an estimated 80,000 jobs in June according to the BLS. Of that total, nearly 6% of the job creation happened in North Dakota. Not bad for a state that makes up just 0.22% of the national population.
