Allen, Burns Concede And GOP Could Lose Another Seat To Illness

Wyoming’s Craig Thomas just announced that he has leukemia.
I really feel for Thomas’ family. My grandfather died from leukemia. It’s an awful disease, even when treatable.
That being said, if Thomas (who is 73) resigns Wyoming’s Republican governor will appoint a new Senator to finish out his term. And Thomas just won re-election earlier this week.
I’m not meaning to be ghoulish, but the political implications here are important.
Update: I’m an idiot. Thomas is a Republican, so if he resigns Wyoming’s Democrat Governor will be appointing a new Senator.
But still, the political ramifications of this are worth noting.

    What would it take to get the posting times corrected? Did Rob switch time zones, or is this some sort of protest against standard time?

    The problem is that Rob’s so tied into Karl Rove that he has to run his clock on Washington time.

    I heard on Hannity that J.D. Hayworth has not yet conceded.

    Neither has his opponent claimed victory.

    The current results are razor thin and there’s over 100,000 votes yet to be counted.

    I just read a news release where Thomas said he’ll be back to the senate in January.

    He has a good chance of recovery. These days leukemia isn’t the death sentence it used to be. My father-in-law died from it because he didn’t go to the doctor thus wasn’t diagnosed until it was too late.

    Prayers are good. They work
