    That site doesn’t accuse Glenn Beck of raping and murdering a young girl in 1990. It merely points out that a young girl *was* raped and murdered in 1990, and Glenn Beck has yet to provide an alibi for his actions on that day. Glenn Beck has not proven that he is innocent of that terrible, terrible crime; he remains free to live his life, while that little girl’s parents have yet to receive any justice.

    And when Eiland-Hall courageously started asking the difficult questions and investigating Beck’s alleged misdeeds, Beck responded by attempting to violate the man’s Right to Free Speech by instigating frivolous lawsuits against him. Which leads to the obvious question: If Glenn Beck was *not* involved in this young girl’s rape and murder 20 years ago, why is he so desperate to bury the investigation???

    What all this demonstrates is the utter predictability of the progressives’ response to anything they don’t like.

    The first reaction is, of course, “But, Bush…” and it is almost surprising that Lioncourt didn’t try to blame President Bush. Several of our other adolescent lefty trolls would have.

    The next level of response is to label the “offender” a liar, as was done here by both Lioncourt and, of course, the ever predictable Hannitized.

    The next step down the lefty ladder of dissent is the name-calling. Usually this deteriorates quickly into vulgarity. A more sophisticated style of insult requires mental dexterity and verbal acumen beyond the capability of most preening, would-be progressive bullies, and that is certainly true of the trolls here at SAB. I don’t expect much more commentary on this thread so I may be spared the ignominy, but ya never know.

    It’s not funny to link a prominent figure to a rape and murder, whether real or imagined, and demand that they defend themselves against that horrible alligation. And it wasn’t until after he got sued that the words “parody” got put prominently on the site.

    At no point in history has slander or libel been an accepted form of free speech. Claiming, even in jest, that someone has never denied raping and murdering a girl two decades ago has the sole intention of damaging that person’s reputation. While the website has all kinds of commentary now on Beck’s program, it never used to. (You can go to the old format, and see what used to be posted.) The site has dozens of links to “proof” that Beck supposedly did this, meant to convey the impression that there is some truth to it. It’s only once you get to the bottom of the page that you get a mealy mouthed “this is parody…maybe” quote. And as the new disclaimer reads, a LOT of people took it seriously.

    Stop defending this Todd.
