I think there’s probably a market out there for liberal radio, it’s just that the liberals who would fill it aren’t as crazy as Al Franken and Randi Rhodes.

While your latter point is completely valid (can anyone seriously listen to Mrs. Rhodes and take her seriously? She’s terrible...), even were the talent on Air America better I don’t believe there is much of a market for it.  There are a few liberal talk radio stations/shows in Sacramento and in the San Fransisco Bay Area that have survived for years (way before Air America) but only barely.  Most are relegated to late night and weekend spots.  They don’t exactly have the largest audience, and they are in San Fran-freaking-sicso… haha.

I just think there is so much liberal media out there that you don’t need ANOTHER medium (radio) on which to get liberal thoughts.  The market is pretty much saturated with liberal thought already, there just isn’t the market for it to thrive.

The problem with liberal talk radio is content… or rather lack of it.

Liberalism is based on emotion, on feelings, not on any sort of intellectual substance.  Liberals can tell us how they feel about something or someone.  They can explain what they dislike and what they feel is wrong, but they are all but useless at offering cogent, workable solutions to problems.

Listening to Air America (Yeah, that’s an appropriate name, alright!) is like sitting through three solid hours of Don Rickles.  Except, of course, that Rickles is occasionally funny.

The problem with Air America is the people delivering the Message I listen to it once in a while to remind myself how bad they are. Its the same old tired shit, Randy Rhodes gets on there and she sounds like she has been smoking pot all night and drinking and there is nothing but vemon spewing out of her filty mouth. All she can do is say Bush is a nazi, and Bush is stupid and Bush is evil and the war is evil and Rumfield is a Nazi and Gitmo is a gulag. After a while I am sure the listeners just turn off the dial.

As far as left wing radio goes, I actually think Ed Schultz although I agree with most nothing he says is at least some what kind of entertaining.

Lastly I don’t see this fairness doctring passing in the end. Dennis Kucinich, is looked at as nothing more than a far left loon and is rarely taken very seriously.

The problem with “Air America” is that if you want to listen to the liberal point of view, you can just turn on N.P.R. or watch the networks.  The media are saturated with liberals, there just isn’t room for a poorly produced, frothing at the mouth version.  Whereas conservative talk radio is the only media outlet for an alternative.  Hence its popularity.

It’s actually a lot simpler than that.  Rush and Sean tell the truth, and AA lies.  After decades of being lied to by the media(now the MSM), the American public is hungry for the truth, and eagerly buys it wherever and whenever it is available.  The economic success of Conservative media is proof of this.  No one is forced to buy the Conservative message; those who buy it do that of their own free will.

Hope and change, in a free world, are the private possessions of motivated individuals.

I am sick of the MSM being a lap dog for the Liberals and DNC and any swaying away from the MSM causes people to start applying labels like Right Wing Hacks as if some how the MSM is more credible. That is why talk radio became so powerful and hard to defeat. This is why the morons on the left want to control it because its kicking their ass and they don’t like it. The left though wow, we should do that and it failed. Now they want some stupid fairness doctrine, which I don’t think will ever pass because you can’t force people to talk about both sides of the political spectrum especially on comerical radio.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

The MSM is composed of leftie “preachers”, who preach the fundamentalism of the left.  They want to destroy any who don’t follow their fundamentalist doctrine.

Err America is failing because they don’t offer any humorous insight into the human condition (or any insight at all!), they merely bleat defeat and retreat.

Liberals can listen to Rush without agreeing with him. Conservatives don’t listen to Err America unless they’re being held against their will and in violation of the Geneva Conventions!
