AFP Summit: Day Two

I’m just getting ready to head down to the kick-off proceedings down in the lobby of the hotel where John Stossel, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, Tom Coburn, Sam Brownback, Ron Paul and Michael Steele will all be talking.  Should be a good time.

And, really, this whole trip has been wonderful.  Last night myself and a couple of other attendees walked a few blocks over to a fantastic steak house where we had a late drinks and dinner that lasted a couple of hours.  On the way back we wondered past the White House, said hi to the nuclear disarmament protester that has been there for decades, and then went back to the hotel through Lafayette Park.

For someone who lives a long ways away from this stuff, it’s amazing to go around this city and suddenly realize that you’re standing in front of the Treasury Department or something.

Anyway, I’m off to the conference now.  I’ll try to update throughout the day.  There’s supposed to be stations from which a guy can get internet, but the response AFP got to this summit has been overwhelming.  Which is great in terms of seeing people come out and support this effort, but sort of bad in terms of organization.

Yeah, I had the same feeling back in April at an immigration event. Of course I was one of those loons actually screaming at the White House. Something I’d never thought I’d do being conservative and all.

One can only take watching two border agents go to jail for doing their job and having the President sit there idly and do nothing, meanwhile pardoning his best buddy Scooter Libby.
