ABC News Suggests Success In Iraq Could Help Obama

And so the spin begins.

What’s amazing to me is that Obama has been a defeatist on Iraq since the first days of the invasion.  One of his chief complaints against Hillary Clinton early in the primary battle - back when the situation in Iraq was not as good as it is now - was that she voted for the war while he never supported it.  He has told us time and again that he would immediately pull troops out of Iraq because the war is un-winnable.

And yet now we’re winning the war proving Obama (not to mention most of the rest of the Democrat party) dead wrong in his pronouncements, and we’re supposed to believe that helps him in his campaign?

I think it proves that he’s a short-sighted partisan hack with all the foreign policy deftness of a small town dog catcher.

The only way success in Iraq helps Obama is if the media stops talking about the war and it becomes less of an issue in the election.  Which the media will probably do given that the success in the war is as embarrassing for them as it is for Obama, but even so the fact that the war in Iraq is a victory for Bush, McCain and most Republicans in general is undeniable at this point.

Without the Media, Obama would have lost a long time ago.  I feel like I’m living an hour of Max Headroom!

Lord.

Work on your reading comprehension for God’s sake.

Recent success in Iraq “would seem to hurt Obama, but it seems as though many Americans have a fixed opinion about this and are impervious to changing facts,” said James E. Campbell, chairman of the political science department at the University of Buffalo.

I will wager half of your ignorant audience doesn’t even bother to read.  Their conclusion certainly point to that.

What’s your excuse Rob?

So to summarize, for the idiots.  The media IS NOT saying the progress in Iraq HELPS Obama, it is saying that it will take time for those facts to change the attitude of Americans regarding the war.

Only an idiot could come to the conclusion Rob had.

Phoof,

Does the article say or even suggest that the improvements in Iraq “HELP” Obama?  Yes or no?

Can you please cut and paste the sentence that does, if you are in fact stupid enough to bite on that conclusion?

I mean, I realize you are tying to be funny and all, but I sort of take offense to lying and the consistency in which Rob does it.

In fact, the ABC article says just the opposite of what Rob claims;

“One big factor in the 2006 elections was that the voters saw that the administration was nonresponsive to the facts,” he said. “They just kind of dug in. If centrists in American politics see Obama in that light, it’s going to hurt him.”

[Obama’s] got a problem when it comes to pulling out the troops and he’s waffled on the issue,” Schmitt said. “Now he’s got to argue that we’ve got to pull out because things are going better, but that will remind people that things are going better.”

Again, this boils down to lacking reading comprehension on Rob’s part.  Or, he is lying propagandist.  Or, he simply didn’t bother to read the article.

I said a long, long time ago that no matter what the Democrats said then about our losing in Iraq, when the war became a victory for the United States the Democrats would claim it was the Democrats that forced Bush to change strategy there and thus they won the war. This is Democrat Party politics 101, take every side of every issue and you win all the time. Plus, it was obvious that taking Iraq out of the equation, the Commander-In-Chief issue would not be a serious campaign issue for Obama.

Niemskull,

Can you please point me to the part of the article that suggests that a) The good news in Iraq HELPS Obama, and b) That we are taking any credit for it?

btw,

I supported the surge.  Are you now going to admit we were loosing it at the time you kept denying we weren’t?

Hannitized on June 9, 2008 at 10:49 am

Horseshit (aka Hannitized): I was offering my personal opinion based on the past actions of the Democrats (aka defeatocrats) and how I forsee the positive results of the surge being used to diffuse the issue of our needing an experienced Commander-In-Chief, instead of another Crown Prince of Appeasement in Carter’s bastard son Obama. Clear enough shit for brains?

Stop the name calling, because I can play that game too and it accomplishes nothing.

So you admit that the article says NOTHING about the current situation in Iraq helping Obama?

Oh, and your imagination on what you think Dems will do is about as interesting to me as dried bird poop on a rock.

You may think you offered some form of insight, but it amounts to nothing more than partisan WHINING!

Earn some credibility and admit this post is crap!

neiman, why you and others bother to respond to insannitize boggles my mind.  All that does is encourage him to spout more moonbat inanities.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

docdave on June 9, 2008 at 11:36 am

If the war is over in November, the Dems will claim credit for ending the war.  Hypocrits.

Doc,

You are such an idiot.  Does the article Rob linked say the situation in Iraq, today, would help Obama or not?

And besides.  I don’t give a crap if people choose to debate me or not.  Pointing our their stupidity and lies is the only thing I care about.  That is the point of my posting here.

If they want to try and defend the lies, they can challenge me.  I don’t care.  I am here to set the record straight.  Convincing you guys of anything is a waste of time anyway, you are a bunch of loons.

You fool.

Like the damn monkeys at the zoo, he digs poop out of his own rump, eats it, plays with it and throws it around, which proves that liberals did descend from monkeys.

You have that inverted. Monkeys descended from liberal, and sought better company!
