Without government meddling, I would have a larger paycheck, because my employer would be able to give me what he sends to the government in order to employ me. The Iraq war was a useful expense. It advanced our interests, and (let's be clear) was just increasing spending on an area where we were already spending. The bailout bill was not only massively expensive, and set a bad precident, but it was irresponsible spending.

Legitimate/Helpful spending vs Illegitimate/Irresponsible spending must be acknowledged.
