A Thought On The Questioning Of Timing

Liberals question Bush’s timing a lot. Whenever there is a major announcement in the war on terror (like the capture of a major terror figure or the elevation of the terror alert level, etc.) there inevitably comes questions about the timing. It usually goes something like this:

Bush just announced “x” today because he wants to draw attention away from “y”.

This is called “wagging the dog,” and I posted about it earlier today. Sort of.
Anyway, here’s my thought on all these accusations of dog wagging: For a President that is perpetually in the midst of one controversy or another (from Plame to troop armor, pre-war intelligence to NSA intelligence gathering) is there ever a time when he can announce something and not have it making headlines opposite the scandal du jour?

Never rule out the ‘rope-adope’ when it comes to Rove.

I question the timing of this post, isn’t it true you are using it to distract from the other ‘wagmydog’ post?

Hey, wait a minute…. I think Bull is onto something here!!!

Seth Y: I question the MSM’s honesty and credibility a lot; I don’t care about the timing. It’s always the right time to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

One poll has your boy at 29% nationally … 47 states rate his job approval below 50%…his popularity (ahem) problem reaches far beyond schoolyards.

    Well, I don’t doubt Rove’s prowess.

As always, implimentation and execution are at issue.

While the current situation with the border is likely the politically expedient one – I don’t like leadership based on expediency, especially when the person doing it has nothing to gain by doing it.

I don’t doubt that Bush thinks he is right – he’s just not representing the people that put him there very well.

I question the timing of this post, isn’t it true you are using it to distract from the other ‘wagmydog’ post? This is obviously nothing more than a transparent case of CYA. I’m onto your tricks, Rob McChimpyburton. LMAO

Liberals question Bush’s timing a lot.

And we question the press’ timing a lot. They both do it… The question is, what’s the motive?

  • robert108

Think Muhammed Ali. He let his opponents hit him until they got tired. Then he took them out. He lay on the ropes and let them(the ropes) soak up the energy. I think Free made a good analogy there.

  • robert108

rbb: When the polls agree with your agenda, you quote them. When they don’t, like the initial NSA poll, you try to discredit them. Interesting.

    Free,

I kinda like your Rope-a-dope analogy. Especially since the guy who invented and employed it (Muhammed Ali – the “Greatest” ever) won that particular fight (the “Rumble in the Jungle” versus a younger, stronger, but not nearly as crafty George Foreman.)

If your analogy holds, Rove wins. I like that. A Lot!

    Seriously.

It’s all too “conveeeenient” (Church Lady) for all of this old news regarding the NSA to pop up just as a certain CIA confirmation of a certain NSA individual is happening.

It’s like this all the time.

Never rule out the ‘rope-adope’ when it comes to Rove.

And this means what exactly? Sorry, don’t follow you…

  • robert108

Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah, you did it too! More schoolyard.

  • robert108

Can’t help but notice that this “wag the dog” charge was made against Clinton many times, and for good reason. It’s just a schoolyard “hit back” by the Dems and their willing accomplices in the MSM, as is everything else they seem to be doing lately.

Yeah, rbb, why you do that??? ;)

Bush supporters would NEVER do something like that.

  • Bat One

    Free,

Can’t say I disagree with you. But then as I noted earlier the only capable candidate the Democrats have to offer, Bob Kerrey, isn’t interested. Other than Kerrey, the rest of the Democrats are sand lot pickup players.

Well, my point is that it is difficult for Bush to time things to distract from his various scandals when the man is perpetually in the midst of them.
