That was terribly, inexcusably offensive to many tens of millions of Christians, it was horribly denigrating to Christ and the Church, and demonstrative of your own low moral character and standards of decency.

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

But just to expand on Neiman’s point, I doubt gavin is in any danger of being beheaded after offending said Christians.  Nor is there any danger of riots and mass violence.

Not that anyone would trouble with someone who apparently wipes his ass with newspaper.

Faith in God is based upon knowledge, facts and reason; and your saying it is a joke, considering Christ is an uncontestable historical figure and has had the single greatest impact on the world than any other human being, that alone would say to even an ardent, Christ hating atheist that Christianity is no joke. That doesn’t mean they believe He was and is God, but they would admit His impact on the world and that He and Christianity is certainly no joke.

gavin brown - whatever you do, don’t mistake “religion” for the rantings of Neiman.

That being said, you’re not being fair to religion. Its belief systems offer tremendous comfort to billions of people worldwide. That’s no “joke”.

It is a bit unfair
some of the best people I know are religious and thats what makes them the good people they are. but some of the worst people I know are bad people because of their religion.

All I want to know is. Are those the footwashing stations that have been installed in a certain prayer room of an American school ?????
