A Christmas Note About Barack Obama

For the record, while the great and wonderful and caring Obama (the liberal Messiah who is going to feed the hungry, employ the poor and single-handedly stop global warming) cavorts shirtless on the beach in Hawaii at his $30 million beach house, his brother remains in Kenya.  Living in a shack.

On one dollar a month.

Merry Christmas!

Even then, the man is so much better off than all those kids blown to bits by the American invasion of Iraq that bush foisted upon them due to lies about WMDs! At least 30,000 civilians and counting!

Happy Kwanza!

Actually, Saddam was murdering more civilians than that on a yearly basis.  Thanks to the invasion of Iraq, fewer civilians died than would have under Saddam.

So there’s that.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

Rob on December 24, 2008 at 02:30 pm

Of course you have no proof of that and really, the 30,000+ people killed due to the invasion may not have been the ones allegedly, predicted to have been killed by Saddam! Particularly the kids! After all, your kind lied about the reason for the war and changed the rationale so many times, why should anyone believe your horror stories of mass killings? But I guess as long as those kids were going to die someday anyway, us killing them a little early was justified!

Such a deal! There’s one of the happy children now!

Happy EID!

Why yes, a blog post full of propaganda sites is sure to be telling the truth! “Global Business Network”? A PR firm used to create lies that justify the invasion!

Perfect!

Sounds a lot like the Hill & Knowlton PR firm that was hired by Kuwait to make up lies about “babies bayoneted in ther incubators” in the 90s. Or the lies about Iraqis denying medical treatment to US troops in this latest American invasion.

See, the people who do the invading and conquering can’t accept the fact that what they’ve done is wrong so they invent rationalizations! Do you think that any invading, conquering force in the history of the world didn’t find a way to justify their misdeeds? From “God told us to do it!” to “He was murdering his own people!”, those with ambitions for taking things from others have found ways to justify it.

Oh look, there’s another one of those happy Iraqi children, safe from the Saddam regime! Sleeping like a, well, like a baby!

likwidshoe on December 24, 2008 at 04:06 pm

Guess it didn’t sink in the last time.  Here are the quotes again:

“One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line.”—President Bill Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.”—President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

“Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face.”—Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.”—Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.” Letter to President Clinton, signed by:—Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998

“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.” -Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

“Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies.”—Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

“There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies.” Letter to President Bush, Signed by:—Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), and others, Dec 5, 2001

here are the rest:

“We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them.”—Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

“We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.”—Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

“Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”—Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.”—Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

“The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons…”—Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

“I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force—if necessary—to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.”—Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

“There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.”—Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

“He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do”—Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”—Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

“We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction.”—Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

“Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real…”—Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

AR-15 on December 24, 2008 at 09:30 pm

The comments were from before the weapons inspectors went in and found nothing. The most heated were post-9/11.

The last time Blix was in Iraq was 2003, right before bush pulled them out so he could invade. From Blix himself on March 20, 2008:

The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was a tragedy - for Iraq, for the US, for the UN, for truth and human dignity.

The elimination of weapons of mass destruction was the declared main aim of the war. It is improbable that the governments of the alliance could have sold the war to their parliaments on any other grounds. That they believed in the weapons’ existence in the autumn of 2002 is understandable. Why had the Iraqis stopped UN inspectors during the 90s if they had nothing to hide? Responsibility for the war must rest, though, on what those launching it knew by March 2003.

By then, Unmovic inspectors had carried out some 700 inspections at 500 sites without finding prohibited weapons. The contract that George Bush held up before Congress to show that Iraq was purchasing uranium oxide was proved to be a forgery. The allied powers were on thin ice, but they preferred to replace question marks with exclamation marks.

They could not succeed in eliminating WMDs because they did not exist. Nor could they succeed in the declared aim to eliminate al-Qaida operators, because they were not in Iraq. They came later, attracted by the occupants.

The commenters in the quotes of your posts were tricked, too. The President supposedly had the evidence and it was FAKE.

It’s one thing to blow smoke in a speech and rattle your swords, it’s quite another to spend a trillion bucks invading a country and killing tens of thousands of civilians in the process.

If there’s a hell, bush is going there.

Merry Christmas!

Alpha Romeo -

I’ve posted extensive links to the WMD components and precursors located in post-invasion Iraq.  I believe the most recent post was here

The United Nations has determined that Saddam Hussein shipped weapons of mass destruction components as well as medium-range ballistic missiles before, during and after the U.S.-led war against Iraq in 2003.

UN weapons inspectors did release a report admitting that WMD’s were indeed in Saddam Hussein’s post-invasion Iraq, but that they, for the most part, had been transported to such places as Syria, Tunisia and Holland.

Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and other Democrats, all saw the same intelligence back when Clinton was president and George Tenet headed the CIA.  They all claimed Iraq had WMD which threatened America.  If there really were no WMD, why are they not held equally accountable for misleading the American people?  Shouldn’t they be required to reveal the basis for their assertions?  George Bush retained Clinton’s CIA chief who reportedly assured Bush that it was a “slam dunk” that Saddam Hussein had WMD.  Other intelligence services including those of NATO and Israel also believed there were WMD.  Why don’t the critics attempt to discover the evidence for those conclusions?
....

Shortly before the war, it was reported that U.S. satellites spotted truck convoys moving from Iraq to Syria at night.  One possible explanation is that Saddam had WMD and removed them before the war. Various reports claim that the Russians helped move convoys and planeloads of materials from Iraq into Syria to at least three heavily guarded locations, identified, at least two years ago, by Debka.com and other news sources.

The UN body responsible for tracking Iraq’s WMDs UNMOVIC reported the presence of dual-use technologies thus:

The assertion that Saddam Hussein had no Weapons of Mass Destruction prior to last year’s liberation has been rendered absurd – by United Nations weapons inspectors.

Demetrius Perricos, acting chairman of UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC), recently disclosed that his inspectors have been busily tracking shipments of illicit Iraqi WMD components around the world.

The Associated Press announced that UNMOVIC inspectors have found dozens of engines from banned al-Samoud 2 (SA2) missiles, which were shipped out of Iraq as “scrap metal.” Most recently, UNMOVIC agents found 20 SA-2 engines in Jordan, along with a great deal of other WMD materials. Officials discovered an identical engine in a Rotterdam port in the Netherlands and believe as many as a dozen extra SA-2 missile engines alone have been transported out of Iraq and remain unaccounted for. Inspectors believe at least some of these engines have also reached Turkey and hope to search Turkish ports in the near future.

Part Two

In addition to the nearly two tons of low—enriched uranium secured by the US, Site C was home to an additional 500 tons of yellowcake uranium,*  This is a conservative estimate as initially reported by Coalition personnel from the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).  Ironically, this initial figure is backed up by, of all organizations, Greenpeace.

Yellowcake is uranium ore that has been milled to produce a pure form of the substance known as Uranium Oxide.  Further processes, such as conversion and enrichment, are required to make the yellowcake suitable for use as nuclear fuel in a reactor or for use in a nuclear weapon.  Interestingly, a quantity of depleted uranium was also found at Tuwaitha.  This implies that some enrichment processes occurred on—site, as depleted uranium is the natural byproduct of the enrichment process.

In addition to the yellowcake, approximately 300 tons of radioisotopes for industrial and medical uses were stored at primarily Site B.  These materials, numbering over 1000 radioactive items retrieved from the site, included Cesium—137 and Cobalt—60.  Both are extremely radioactive substances that are ideal for use in Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD), or ‘dirty bombs.’

...
Department of Energy officials estimated that the two tons of low—enriched uranium shipped to the US, given further refinement, is enough to produce one nuclear bomb.  The number of bombs that could be made from the over 500 tons of yellowcake is frightening, and, had the coalition not attacked Iraq, Saddam’s nuclear bomb stockpile may have become reality.  The IAEA would have us believe that the massive amount of yellowcake on—site and the depleted uranium find were just due to the Iraqis pursuing enrichment techniques in order to provide fuel for two destroyed reactors.  This is what the UN views as nuclear research for ‘peaceful purposes.’  Simply put, Saddam had retained a nuclear weapons regeneration capability in the same way he did for biological and chemical weapons production.

and as to Chemical / Bio-weapons….

The anti—war left and the media continuously shift the goal posts about WMD stockpiles.  But what does the term ‘stockpile’ mean for WMDs?  One nuclear bomb is not really a ‘stockpile,’ but it would only take one, set off in an American city or dropped on US forces in the field, to make everybody wake up and smell the coffee.

...

‘Stockpiles’ of biological weapons?  A stockpile of bio—weapons can be kept in a fridge in a scientist’s house.  Ricin and botulinum toxin have already been found in sufficient quantities to regenerate a biological weapon (BW) capability in short order.

Of course, the problem with Saddam’s drive to obtain WMD’s for use against the West in general and the US in particular grew worse, much worse, under the Clinton watch.

But this, all this, is emblematic of a Leftist MO—

1) create the problem

2) shift the blame to your political enemies

3) exploit the problem to your own political advantage.

That’s how the Leftists have operated since Day One of being Leftards.

Absolutely correct Dino. There were no WMD found in Iraq, they were all moved into Syria. Colin Powell showed ALL the evidence of what Saadam was doing, showed satelite pictures of the the trucks being loaded and heading for Syria. Are you saying that Powell was lying to the U.N. and to the world? If Powell lied to the world then, did he lie to the American people when he endorsed Barrack Hussein Obama? Are you saying that ALL the pictures and documents were faked?
Are you also saying that Hussein didn’t kill over a million of his own people with chemical and other WMD?

Powell: Some Iraq testimony not “solid”
Saturday, April 3, 2004

WASHINGTON (CNN)—U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said his pre-war testimony to the U.N. Security Council about Iraq’s alleged mobile, biological weapons labs was based on information that appears not to be “solid.”

Powell’s speech before the Security Council on February, 5, 2003—detailing possible weapons of mass destruction in Iraq—was a major event in the Bush administration’s effort to justify a war and win international support.

Powell said Friday his testimony about Iraq and mobile biological weapons labs was based on the best intelligence available, but “now it appears not to be the case that it was that solid,” Powell said.

It’s a Marxist Holiday Miracle!

It is a Christmas with Jesus and the Dems have all the real scandals they can deal with.
I’m sure you being the good little socialist/Marxist you are wishes that today was a godless holiday. Give Hussein Obama a chance, he’ll make the change for you.

Hail Citizen,

My recommendation is to not feed the attention-whore.

Enjoy Christmas with your loved ones.  Turn off the machine and visit with Mom, Dad, the siblings and the kids.

Merry Christmas.

God bless us—every one.

That isn’t legal for an American Citizen to have more than 1 wife at a time.

RebTex. May I remind you that divorce rates in the USA are unfortunately rather high. Because of this a whole bunch of people have either step-siblings and grow together as a family unit, or half brothers and sisters that may never develop a relationship or that matter ever meet each other, because one half of the family lives in Seattle Washington, and the other half in Tampa Florida and they really don’t give a rats ass about their father’s other family.

If Obama doesn’t want to help his Kenyan half/brother, or his Kenyan grandmother, {she lives in a pretty squalid condition}, or any of the other relatives in his family’s village, or the Aunt living here illegally, then fine. But don’t say you are charitable. Charity starts with your family.I firmly believe you should be able to depend on your family in times of need.On the other hand, I have helped people I wasn’t related to, many times. I just sent a small check to a girl that got married in Bejing this past weekend, because she was always helpful to me when I called and she speaks English. I don’t think Obama is obligated in any way to help these people, but it would make him appear as a more humane, caring person.

Ah, but don’t you remember the scripture that Obama quoted at the Saddleback Church forum?

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

And that’s not even talking about blood kin. Sen. Obama claimed this was the philosophy that he strives for in all his dealings, so it seems a bit hypocritical that the least of these my brethren should not include the least of these his brethren!

Human beings a far from perfect. He is a politician after all, not the Messiah or one of his disciples.
I am not defending him from what he has not done for his long lost brother from another mother.
I am against this: “(the liberal Messiah who is going to feed the hungry, employ the poor and single-handedly stop global warming) cavorts shirtless on the beach in Hawaii at his $30 million beach house, his brother remains in Kenya.  Living in a shack.”
And I tell you: Obama is nobody’s Messiah.
Would it make a difference if he cavorted on the beach with a shirt on his back?
The thirty million beach house is not his but a rental. Propably payed for by some fat cat seeking favors.

The column ended, “May God help us root out the false apostles ... who are making the American church sick with their…. money-focused heresies.”

I also believe there are decent people who go to church for the right reasons.

The greatest number of women in the world enslaved by religion - millions upon millions - are Muslims. Quran decsribes women as the property of men, and throughout the Islamic world they are so treated.

But, of course, you have a particular political reason for singling out the Bible, right?

Yes, because that was the topic of discussion…..an American pastor who worships the Bible.

Of course many religions use guilt and holy scripture to control women and men across the country.

I just think if a woman marries a man for his wealth, she at least can leave if she wants without the guilt.

In my experience I have watched many of my Christian friends lose their wives because they sought comfort in being lazy with them because they were too patterned relying on the bible to keep them guilted in the relationship instead of working to keep their relationship healthy.

Gene Scott was a son of an Assemblies of God Minister, he was very eccentric and quite controvesrial both as a man and a minister. What cannot be seriously questioned is the fact he was probably the greatest biblical scholar of his time, by a very large degree indeed. His intellect was extraordinary! After his diagnosis with Prostate cancer, his ministry seemed to change in its emphasis in focusing on the Grace of God,it seemed more loving, the volume was turned down a bit and although his ego was less extreme, he was still a strong prsonality.

His last wife, I believe he was married three times, was attractive, although I would not say hot; and I haven’t seen their ministry since Gene died. So, I cannot speak to her ministry. I can say two things with some degree of certainty: (1) You cannot inherit a Christian ministry, each person must be anointed and called by God alone. (2) She could never touch his biblical knowledge, knowledge of languages and his intellect.

Just FYI!

Are the differences enough to discount the transliteration or is it just “mood” differences?

Her Hebrew & Spanish are pretty close

RebTex on December 27, 2008 at 02:27 pm

She seems capable in several languages including the old world languages.

As I said, I haven’t watched her since Gene passed away, I have nothing against her, I don’t really know much about her; but I wonder considering the massive materials he left behind, if she is just a quick study or is working directly from his previous messages? Why? I didn’t get any sense before he died that she had any in-depth biblical or old world language training, maybe I just missed it!

If she is charging, she has forgotten, as have many others, that Jesus said freely give because you freely received the Truth. Ministry is a gift of God, its not for sale. Even Paul worked rather than be a burden on the Church. Don’t get me wrong I am all for tithes and offerings to support the ministry, I just don’t like the idea of charging, which is why I have never gone to a Gospel Music Concert, it bothers me when people charge for ministry!

You are probably aware that one cannot always accurately translate a foreign language. While I, many a time, believe what she reads in Greek and translates/transliterates to be inaccurate, one can argue with me, successfully I might add, that her interpretation is correct. Many times a Greek word can mean many things. The translation of such words depends on how a person pronounces the word, and the placement of such word in relation to time and circumstance.
That is IMO why we have so many translations of the Greek Bible. And most of the time such translations go unchallenged, because one can argue that both ways are correct.
In short my friend, those damn Greeks did us a disservice.

One method was to line up numbers in order from 0 to 9.

18
27
36
45
54
63
72
81
90

I’m saying Gene Scott learned a method of Aramiac to English & taught her.

I am late to the party and have little to say about religion, and would prefer to comment on the issue.  I take offense at Sen. Obama disregarding his kin.
I take offense on this comment from Elinnas as well, and will address it:

How many of you have a brother from another mother, did not grow up together, and have brotherly feelings towards the long lost 1/2 brother? If any of you knew or found out your father had more than one wife, had children in another country, and those children, your 1/2 brother or sister were destitute by American standards would be willing an able to help?

I have over 150 brothers and sisters through adoption or foster care.  Most (obviously, or should be) are not related to me, but if any one of them needed a favor, I’d be there for them, and they know it!  Yes, I would, and he (Obama) should, too!
