A Business Opportunity For Global Warming Denialists
Crooked Timber, by way of the inanely snarky James Joyner, has a business opportunity of sorts for those of us who criticize global warming hype.
Apparently some banks in Europe are refusing to loan money to ski resorts below a certain elevation level out of fear that those resorts may go under because they don’t get enough snow, something apparently being caused by global warming.
The joke is that we critics of global warming hysteria should be able to cash in by offering these loans. Since, you know, everyone who criticizes global warming hype doesn’t believe the planet is getting warmer or something.
Which is total baloney. Honest criticism of global warming has nothing to do with disputing the fact that the globe is, in fact, getting warmer. That is verifiable fact. What is disputed is whether or not said warming is being caused by humans (or cow farts) as global warming hysterics would have us believe or being caused by natural global cooling and warming trends that have been happening for millenia.
