41 Murders In One Weekend Just Across The Border

But…let’s not make that border more secure, okay? It might hurt someone’s feelings.
This is incredible, and it is happening just a few miles from El Paso:

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (Reuters) – Suspected drug hitmen killed six people in Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico on Tuesday, the latest in a killing spree that has left 41 people dead in the city since the start of the weekend, police said.

Even more amazing is the way Reuters places the blame squarely where it belongs – on the fact that the Mexican government is fighting the drug cartels:

Mexican President Felipe Calderon, whose military-led crackdown on drug cartels has only increased bloodshed, said on Tuesday the surge in killings in places like Ciudad Juarez was due to local gangs battling over ever smaller smuggling turf.

Wow. Some great analysis there, eh?

    I’m not worried about my kids taking drugs, they won’t, I’m worried about the results of others taking and selling drugs. They are the ones that create the problems, causing issues ranging from murder to habitual unemployment. They are getting a government check, free health care, and when it’s not enough to support their habit they resort to violence and crime. If you twist words and make assumptions so absurd as to allude I’m liberal, you have real issues. Stupid name calling aside, drugs are bad, you will at least agree with that and the drain they put on society?

    Sparkie, I find it hard to take you or any argument you make seriously when your picture/video is one of the creepiest things I have ever seen. It reminds me of Buffalo Bill from Silence of the lambs.

    Returning to the argument at hand; your remarks about putting a fence around Philly and Memphis is ridiculous. We are talking about illegal immigration and all of the perils that come with it.

    Illegal immigration is not the biggest reason we need a fence, it’s one of many. Reducing the amount of drugs on our streets and reducing human trafficking are the two biggest reasons for the need. Philly and Memphis are American cities, not quite apples to apples. Your need to be a voice of dissent clouds your rationale.

    How is not wanting my kid to get killed for walking through a mall endorsing a parenting law for others? Although, if you were to legalize heroin you would see a reduction in use because they blow their own brains out(?). Legalizing drugs would probably reduce dealer/trafficking/turf war type crimes, but what about all the people hopped up on drugs? They are still out of their minds and would steal or rob for the cash to buy it. Not pot, I’ve heard both sides and I’m pretty neutral on that. I’ve never actually tried it, but it seems it’s at least harmless when it comes to violence on others (those Dorito’s sure pay though!)

    I think that the illegal status of marijuana puts a drain, financial and otherwise, on society. I think that meth, for example, should be illegal. I am up in the air on heroin and cocaine. Switzerland legalized heroin in the mid 90s and property crime fell 90%. That’s a ‘live and let live’ positive feedback if you ask my opinion.

    not the illegal ones, but they can still booze and have countless narcotics, barbituates, and other wonderful things prescribed by any old croaker they want. but those aren’t ‘drugs’. and we should not be able to sue the ‘pharmaceutical’ companies who lie about their drugs until a large swath of the country is hooked on them.

    Why not try to remove some of the incentives, like practice stricter hiring practices stateside? Its the Mexicans’ fault your kids can’t take care of themselves and avoid using drugs? Talk about a left wing parenting argument! Which way should we fall down this slippery slope? What parenting-type measures should we follow this with? Perhaps your, “need to be a voice of dissent clouds your rationale.”
