20% Of White Democrats Are Racist

After all, using the left’s own criteria for racism so often applied to the right, what else can you conclude from this?

Although attention has been focused on McCain’s problems with the GOP base, there are indications that some Democrats might defect if Obama is the party’s nominee. Overall, 20% of white Democratic voters say they would vote for McCain if Obama is the Democratic nominee. That is twice the percentage of white Democrats who say they would support McCain in a Clinton-McCain matchup. Older Democrats (ages 65 and older), lower-income and less educated Democrats also would support McCain at higher levels if Obama rather than Clinton is the party’s nominee.

In all serious, though, I think this theory has merit.  The storyline we get from the media is one where McCain is the default nominee for the disaffected and not-at-all enthusiastic conservative base while Obama is all but in the White House already, but it’s worth noting that not everyone on the left likes Obama.

You’ve got to think that there are a good number of moderate Democrats who don’t look to favorably on Obama’s ties to far-left anti-war terrorists, his membership in a rather bizarre church, his duplicitous railing against NAFTA (which, let’s remember, was an accomplishment of the Clinton administration) and his rather naive and absurd foreign policy pronouncements.

When Fred Thompson was first getting into the GOP primary race a lot of analysts speculated that he might suffer from too much hype and not enough substance.  Could Obama face the same problem in the general election?

My guess is: Yes.  Whether or not that will be enough to penetrate the “rock star” image the media has painted of him, however, remains to be seen.

What percent of the Democratic party is composed of white, males not employed by the public sector?

This is something that needs to be figured in when looking at how many new voters Obama will bring in.  An older life long union Democrat friend of my Dad will sit out this election.  He just can’t bring himself to vote Obama or for any Republican.

IMO, twenty percent racism among Dem voters is way too low.

Only 20%?  Oh wait, the racists in favor of black males will of course not defect.

It depends on you define the term: If by you mean that by their oublic pronouncements, their public polices and legislation, they have determined that people of color, especially blacks need prefrences and quotas to compete in the marketplace because they are unable; that is they don’t have the necessities to succeed in life without them, that seems racist to me! If you define the term that making blacks enslaved to the public dole (welfare state) for generations, that seems racist to me. If you mean what they say about their feelings on the subject . . . no even there if you pay attention they seem like racists to me. Why? They talk about their poverty, their disadvantages, and they and they alone bring up the color issue.

Sorry, I cannot defend them, they seem racist through and through to me.

Neiman: All you cite is quite true, but I’m also including out and out racism, like not wanting to vote for a black man for President.  I think there are a lot more Dems who think that way than might be expected from listening to their rhetoric.

TW: That’s right; the survey assumed that no black Dems are racist.  Probably not accurate.

No one hates more than Democrats, and their list is extensive. Always has been.

I can believe that. But I never hear the other form of racism. Blacks who are racist to whites. How many are going to vote for BO just because he is black? Probably no more different than Demmie’s who are going to vote for McCain because he is white. But again, the only thing we hear from the MSM is whites that are racist. Another reason the print media is going down in a flaming wreck of self-pity and self-righteousness.

Out of principle or because of his race?  Can you clarify please?  Correction:  Are you able to clarify?  If so, please do.

My father retired from his Union pretty high up in his personnel commission.  He is voting for Obama and he is about as Italian as you get (meaning white).  He was also the chapter pres of his Caucus in Reno....many of which are voting for Obama.....in Reno.

Is it really a shock that some people are racists?  I am not shocked by this at all.  People are people, Democrat or republican.

Just a question why would he need to clarify this? Maybe he thinks Obama is a bad candidate.

This is going to be a nasty election. There are going to be issues that come up about Obama, and there are going to be people that say, “Oh you can’t say that because it’s racist.”

I can see a lot people saying I don’t like Obama. Then the guestion following that statement of Why? Because he is black? I don’t like Obama because he is a socialist that has little if any accomplishments and is affraid to go on the REAL hard hitting TV shows because he doesn’t want to be exposed for what he is.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, hates Negroes more than Democrats. The Democrat Party stripped blacks of their rights to vote, get public education, and own property during the 1870s-80s. It was called “Jim Crowe Laws”, all authored and enforced by Democrats. It was Republicans who defended and fought to return their God given rights to them. Suck on that, sannitized. You hate Negroes. Why? Because you are a Democrat, and they are superior to you.

Wow, calm down.

dirl126 on March 1, 2008 at 11:31 pm

I agree with Rob. 20% is too low for a party that believes in a classless society.

However, republicans by virtue of opposites believe in a hierarchal society.  And if the word racism was not so tainted with evil today I would use it to define myself.

More like, “inevitability of differences”

dirl126 on March 1, 2008 at 11:39 pm

Sorry. I don’t mean to say republicans accept the inevitability of class differences by virtue of opposites only--the republican party I know does not deny the truth of class differences.

dirl126 on March 1, 2008 at 11:42 pm

However, republicans by virtue of opposites believe in a hierarchal society.

I believe you’re referring to Marxists; it’s that whole “class struggle” thing.  The only “hierarchy” accepted by conservatives is the one of merit, and it’s not fixed in any way.  Everyone is capable of achievement.

Ah, calm down. Lets not be actually pointing out the fact that Democrats hate Negroes, and everyone else that is superior to them. Just carry on, pretending that Democrats have not done massive harm to blacks in America, that they continue to do massive harm to them. It would be rude to keep pointing out that Democrats hate Negroes, have always hated and feared Negroes, and always will hate and fear Negroes. Now, calmly suck on that, like a big, juicy lemon.
