Bush To Visit North Dakota
President Bush is set to visit North Dakota this week. Its big news to us, as he's only the 11th sitting President to ever visit our state.
As you might expect, our legislature will be on light-duty while the President is in-state.
It is an honor for the President to visit our state. Its an honor for any President to visit. One would hope that our state politicians would look past partisan bickering and recognize that honor and give him a warm welcome. But I guess that's too much to expect from our state Democrats.
Had Sen. Kerry been elected President I would certainly expect my state Republicans to show some respect for the commander-in-chief. What a bitter bunch of small-minded louts these guys are.
Sadly, our state Democrats seem to be serving as a representative microcosm for the national party.

KXMA - The Legislature probably won't hold floor sessions when President Bush comes to Fargo on Thursday.
Republican legislative leaders say most committees will still be meeting on Thursday.

The Legislature's Democrats aren't too interested in going. Senate minority leader Dave O'Connell says the Bush visit sounds like a political show. House leader Merle Boucher says he doesn't plan to change his schedule much.
