Chavez Calls Bush “The Devil” At UN

Sigh...

UNITED NATIONS - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush "the devil."

The impassioned speech by the leftist leader came a day after Bush and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sparred over Tehran's disputed nuclear program but managed to avoid a personal encounter.

"The devil came here yesterday," Chavez said, referring to Bush's address on Tuesday and making the sign of the cross. "He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world."

Chavez, who has joined Iran in opposing U.S. influence, accused Washington of "domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world."

"We appeal to the people of the United States and the world to halt this threat, which is like a sword hanging over our head," he said.

You know what the biggest problem with the UN is? It has become forum where the rantings of truly evil dictators like Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (and yes, my liberal friends, those men are dictators as there wasn't much democracy in the "elections" that put them into power) get equal footing along side statements from the American president and other leaders of western democracies. By elevating these tyrants to equal status with the leaders of the free world we, in effect, grant legitimacy to their causes and their evil regimes.

As an American, I'm tired of seeing my country be used as a whipping boy at the United Nations. From the bogus accusations of people like Chavez to the condescending prattle from representatives of European powers the United States cannot win at the world body. We are criticized no matter what we do.

What I think the UN needs is a wake call, and the best way to do that is for the United States to begin to seriously consider the amount of money it sends to the organization each year. Because right now it seems like all we're doing is funding a forum for the most insensible of our critics, not to mention an organization that has become so replete with corruption and bureaucracy that it has become a mockery of its original intents.

These guys don’t even need speechwriters for their material; they just have to parrot the leftie/Dem/MSM anti-Bush talking points.  They talk like Cindy Sheehan sock puppets, like a couple of potty-mouthed twelve year olds.  It’s pathetic.

Rob:
The ranting is nothing new.  Remember when Khruschev threatened to ‘bury us’? When Fidel harangued us about ‘Yankee Imperialism’?  Only the players have changed.
While I agree with all the problem’s you’ve outlined, the simple fact is that nobody seems to have any ideas about how to make it better. Witholding funds might improve your disposition, but it’s not going to make the organization morph into something useful.
We set up the U.N., we get a permanent veto in the Security Council and still we bitch!

Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are tyrants that hold their thumb down on their own people and stick their noses up at us. Chavez and Ahmadinejad have been globe trotting for the past few years drumming up support to destroy our country. Where are they getting the money to fuel these plans? Look no further than your own pockets. Look into where Walmart, Phillips 66, and Citgo get their gas and you will find these two retards. Hell, Citgo IS OWNED by the government of Chavez. Stop giving them money and they will stop trying to bury us, next thing you know, they will be sending us Christmas cards.

We know Chavez a long time here in South America. The guys is crazy and actually that is his nick name around here. But you know he put a lot of valid point on the subject. Some of them are that america actually harbour terrorist and practice terrorist methods in an organized way not only recently but quite while ago in modern history.

And he remarkably made a distintion between your goverment and the people of USA. I only sorry that now you guys put attention to that clown cause he call “devil” to your president but the irony is that just after that you guys finnaly start to listen what great part of the worl think about you just here in your back yard ( hello we are your neighbours!!!). The problem is as mare and more countries dont fell represented by ONU they are making new aligencies and sometimes is people which are passionate with word more than intellect that people choose to follow. I truly hope that not happen here. Never the less you guys have to start to listen. you are just part of a bigger neighborhood called Human kind and untill now your are acting as the welthy crazy neighbor with a bottle of whisky in one hand and a machine gun on the other, screamming and chanting about democracy, peace and anti terrorist but shooting around and just securing some gasoline for your car and household. No nice and running out of friends.

The best you can do for security is securing your friend and listem them. I from chile but i lived in canada and your if you don’t trust anybody your should trust THEM when they say you out of irak and war of terrorism doesn’t mean your have to become one. You allways treat Canadian bad, a little better as you treat the rest of the world but they are allways help you and support you. You country act in a patetic way, getting themselve more and more as a target and giving it to freedom and democracy a really bad PR. I still trust in USA people though, I’m still hoping you find the inner strengh to change the destiny you are dragging to all with you and your own. People from all countrys has goodness and divine values at them core. That were your should bet for and that were the diffrent is gonna be made.

By the way no more money for ONU no problem at is it is a waste of it.

cheers

This isn’t true.  Evil people exist because absolute morality exists and is universal.

There is a debate going on in the world.  It is a confrontation between those who believe there is no absolute morality, hence no universal right and wrong, and those who believe there is.  This is why nationalism is so important.  The world will never agree, but histrically people of a given nation have.  Our nation was founded upon the morality of universal right and wrong as seen in the declaration that self-evident truths (that’s right libs, absolute truth.) exist and are the foundation of good government.

HG on September 20, 2006 at 11:29 am

HG: I don’t know if the moral relativists really believe anything, but they are invested in their philosophy because it absolves them of any responsibility for their actions.  They hope it’s true.

the only things that can be entailed in a set of ‘absolute morals’ are the three following things: 1-don’t lie 2-don’t kill 3-take care of your kids until they can take care of themselves ...everything else is in flux. you fricking cristian twats think you know stuff, but your all a pack of non-thinking scardey dumbasses. think for yourself! its empowering. jesus wont hate you. shyte, jesus was a socialist, just rallying his people under the grip of roman oppression. people dont really come back to from the dead. also - ever notice how everyone thinks jesus looks like a 15th century italian model?? he was a jewish arab.

I think it’s nice to hear people openly voicing their opinion on Bush and the administration. If you think these views only come from rogue nations, go take a hike through Europe and see what people think of Bush and our politics. You’d be surprised. I wouldn’t.

I also think its a good thing that SOMEONE in the world is speaking the truth, since we all know we’ve lost those freedoms here in the States, where it’s our right and duty to speak against an incompetent government. But if I do that now, Rummy calls me a fascist and sends me to a CIA prison in Romania. Did someone mention dictators? wink

You have that freedom, don’t you? Stop lying.  You get to spew your hate, but you don’t get immunity from criticism for doing it.  Grow up!  Why don’t you move to Venezuela or Iran, if you think life is so much better there.

Here is the opposition. Notice how divorced from reality these people are.

chris believes that we need to “listen” to the rest of the world. Totally lost on chris is just how messed up most of the world is. chris also believes in the lie that we are simply “securing some gasoline” in the war in Iraq. chris’ credibility is approaching zero.

sparky arbuckle/asslicker seems to hate Christians. What this character of two names doesn’t realize as he hates on Christianity is that he’s responding to an atheist. Keep this in mind as he rants against the “non-thinking”. sparky arbuckle/asslicker also believes that Chavez is some kind of good guy merely because of giving people bread.

sami sauma is more concerned about what people think of us. Why this is so important is not explained. sami sauma also believes that Bush is the devil and that he or she has lost the ability to say this in the U.S.

pee pee five one doo doo appears to be some kind of joke. Who knows.

That’s what we’re up against. People who lack any kind of tenious grasp on reality and those who will lie in order to make their single voice seem like it is many.

that america is imperialistic, motivated by oil and protection of israel is transparent, bush’s democracy prattle notwithstanding. that america is biased against islamic peoples, particularly palestinians, is also obvious. that the us supports israel is fundamentally a violation of our values. that chavez or others get upset is okay by me. by the way the times reports chavez received loud and sustained applaus that had to be cut off by the moderator. telling, don’t you think?

that america is imperialistic,

Thanks for chiming in, Karl Marx.

motivated by oil

What powers your car, Herb, cooking oil?

and protection of israel

Against genocide by psychopathic Palestinians and other arabs.

is transparent, bush’s democracy prattle notwithstanding. that america is biased against islamic peoples, particularly palestinians, is also obvious.

And rightly so. They allow themselves to be led by tyrants, kleptocrats and terrorists. They should really grow up.

that the us supports israel is fundamentally a violation of our values.

Yeah, like democracy, constitutional government and protecting a people against annihilation. That sure violates our principles, alright. Instead, we should throw our lot in with Palestinian terrorists, I suppose.

that chavez or others get upset is okay by me. by the way the times reports chavez received loud and sustained applaus that had to be cut off by the moderator. telling, don’t you think?

Yes, quite telling. The UN needs to be put out of its misery.

Lik,

Must have been a cold front going through the area last night.  The derelicts and shopping cart mavens seem to have showed up all at once.

I know it’s impolite to make fun of the disabled, but it’s tough not to chortle at the incoherent rantings of Herbie Pee Pee and Sami Sparkle-Asslick.  Still, the problem appears to be congenital, so there’s no risk that they are contagious and might infect others.  And they do such clever things with cardboard boxes too!

I find it interesting that the people making Calls for the abolition of the UN don’t seem to have noticed that Chavez touches on the need to eliminate the UN in his speech. Perhaps some of you would like to seriously consider this proposal and send letters urging your elected Representatives to bring this up in Congress.

If you’d like to more about Chavez’s reasons against the UN, you may wish to read his speech from LAST September (which describes the problems of the Security Council).
