Alaska just threw out their governor in the Republican primary.

Stevens is up in 2008.  Is he running again?  If not, hopefully the Alaskans Republicans keep their attitude towards crappy incumbents.

My bet is on Ted “the Hulk” Steven . ..fiscal conservatives (Coburn, etc) and Democrats have embarassed him. Being the president pro tempore of the Senate, The Hulk has lots of power. and he is also very big on payback/getting even..

to make this post more Neutral let me say my second bet is on his fellow Paleo-Senator, but I highly doubt it. (I’m willing to put the overwhelming majority of my money on Ted Stevens)

[UPDATE BY ERICK] RedState has been told reliably that Sen. Byrd is the Democrat who also has a hold on the bill.

2 Senators who have a great deal to hide, I imagine the scrambling and ass covering is kicking into over drive. $ to a donut Byrd will claim today it was a miscommunication by his staff.
