Code Pinks Disrupts Maliki Speech

Medea Benjamin - the founder of the rabidly anti-war group Code Pink, a pro-communist activist and a symapthizer with Saddam Hussein - managed to get a ticket to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's speech in Congress today, and she used the opportunity to disrupt the proceedings.

You don't suppose some Congressional Democrat slipped her the ticket to attend, do you? It's not like they haven't done that sort of thing before.

Regardless, leftists were probably happy to see this. Democrats certainly weren't very interested in seeing Maliki have his say in front of America, yet if we take a step back and consider this situation from a certain perspective what happened is really quite disgusting.

Before the invasion of Iraq Benjamin traveled to that country to serve as a human shield as a symbolic way of protecting Saddam's dictatorship from being toppled. That obviously didn't work, so now we have Benjamin - who once showed symbolic support for the cruel oppressor of Iraqi citizens - heckling the newly-elected leader of Iraq who was put in power by the very people Saddam oppressed.

In the halls of Congress, no less. And probably as a guest of some Democrat too, as I've already mentioned.

I don't care what your opinion of the war in Iraq is, what Benjamin did was disgusting.

By the way, if you missed the speech you can read a transcript here or watch it here.

She was probably subbing on behalf of one of the Democrats who didn’t attend, lol.

More proof that it’s only freedom of speech when it’s a leftie speaking.  In their mind, there’s no conflict with freedom of speech in preventing anybody whom they disagree with from speaking.

Carrick, check out what happens if someone simply attends a lefist demonstration and doesn’t look like he/she belongs.

If al-Maliki gave a speech in public in Iraq
it would be his last.

This was a kiss on the cheek.

Protest is one thing, but throwing a screaming fit to deny another his free speech is quite another.

And yes, Woofie, there are still a lot of terrorists and anti-democracy types roaming the streets in Iraq.

What would you have us do, give up because people living in a region of the world that has been oppressed for years upon years don’t openly embrace democracy as quickly as you want them to?

Oh wait, that’s exactly what defeatists like you want us to do.

WOOF gets it wrong, Protest used to be as American as....

Oh!...so “protest” is shouting down the other side. Okay,..thanks for the glimpse into your definitions.

I guess I could now x-out your comments (since I could do that sort of thing, you know) and you would call this “protest”. I could digitally shout you out just like these far-leftie “protestors” do.

Very interesting and thanks for the tip. If I ever feel the need to “protest” you from here on out, I’ll just x-out your comments and prevent you from talking! I hope you will understand when the time comes. This is an “American” thing to do and you have already shown your approval of such tactics.

Or perhaps you could just superimpose someones elses comment over woofie’s from now on, leaving glimpses of what it has to say yet effectively “shouting” him down. Since he approves of people he dislikes being shouted down.

Or Rob, when some like a Fargo city commissioner and Dem tried to attend the Bush meeting in Fargo and others in Denver.  Both sides try to prevent the other side from getting in to their events.

The people who were denied access to the Bush event in Fargo had also participated in an online discussion group where they’d talked about disrupting the event.

Frankly, I don’t blame the President for keeping out hecklers.

Puzzlefeet gets immature, Both sides try to prevent the other side from getting in to their events.

Is this the immature, “Your side does it too!” taunt? Why would you even say this? Seems a bit defensive.

Exactly, even if what she said about Bush were true...two wrongs don’t make a right.

Actually not, it was written to point out to Rob that he had failed to indicate that it was not just a Dem thing.  I love it when you guys are being you normal hypocritical selves and then turn all childish when it is pointed out to you.  Then you’re quick to say things like “two wrongs don’t make a right” or the immature defensive canard is trotted out.

Too too funny you all are today! keep it up.

Puzzle, are you in the third grade again?

1) You left out some pertinent details about the Bush speech in Fargo.  The people weren’t let in because they’d made plans to heckle the President in an online discussion group.

2) Even if it were true, how does that excuse Democrats from giving tickets to Code Pink to heckle at events?

So...she flew to Iraq to be a human shield to protect the regime of one of history’s great mass murderers. And now she makes a complete ass of herself by intruding on someone else’s right to speak freely.

Question: Where does she get the money to do all this? Does she work at all, or is she just a professional agitator, (useful idiot?)funded by people whose only intention is the discredit - and eventually the destruction - of America?

Just wondering.

Pilgrim,

From what I have read, Code Pink is a part of International ANSWER.  ANSWER itself is part of the World Worker’s Party.  The WWP is an admitted Stalinist organization with ties to N. Korea and other fun loving groups.

The WWP’s money comes from foreign and domestic organizations who still believe in the “Revolution” of the worker over the evil capitalist/imperialist empire.  They want to destroy the US and the West as much as the Islamo-fascists.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend” applies here.

Slug, the most funnest part is how the Wahabi Deathculters kill socialists and communists as merrily as they kill their own children and women. EEOC strikes again, ain’t it great?
