Gore: It Is Ok To Lie If You Get What You Want

Well, that's not exactly what he said...but it may as well have been.

From an interview with Gore about his new movie:

Q: There's a lot of debate right now over the best way to communicate about global warming and get people motivated. Do you scare people or give them hope? What's the right mix?

A: I think the answer to that depends on where your audience's head is. In the United States of America, unfortunately we still live in a bubble of unreality. And the Category 5 denial is an enormous obstacle to any discussion of solutions. Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis.

Well fine then. I'm going to storm into an emergency and claim that my foot is infected with gangrene so that I can jump to the head of the line and have a doctor look at my ingrown toenail right away. After all, an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous my medical condition is is ok as long it will get my doctor to solve the crisis that is my ingrown toenail.

"Over representation of factual presentation” sounds like a second cousin to “No controlling legal authority.”

Gawd!  The bureaucrats must really love this guy.  He obviously speaks their language.  No wonder the moron couldn’t win his own home state of Tennessee.

Well, there’s little factual about Gore’s version of so-called global warming (or is it global cooling) so he is at least consistent. What his and the other global conspirators are after is the last vestiges of independant commerce and individual freedoms
You and I possibly have some differences of opinion regarding the quality of the science of global climatology (from whence the global warming meme has emerged), but I agree with you on this.  Many of those who are pushing the global warming meme have ulterior motives.  Many of them are anti-capitalism, anti-industry, or are just trying to “level the playing field between the United States and the rest of the world.”

It’s a proven fact that the weather WILL BE DIFFERENT tomorrow.  Don’t try to deny it.

I will deny that, especially for stations located along trade-wind belts.  These feckless bastards get the same pleasant weather day-after-day-after-day.

That is the real “Inconvenient Truth”.  The world is a level playing field, and we win every time, which is an indication of how superior free people making free choices is.  They don’t want to recognize the obvious truth of this, and free their populations to do what they naturally do without govt controls.  Their real agenda is control.

I guess you’ve never been to central Florida.  They put up the same weather report record sometime in 1971: Temperature in the mid to high 80s.  Brief showers between 3 and 4 PM.  (Lather, rinse, repeat)

As far as global conditions, I believe that whatever serious studies have been done indicate that cosmologicaly conditions in our solar system e.g. sun energy, and of the earth e.g. orbit, inclination, volcanism , have a much greater effect on weather than anything mankind can induce.

I agree with this except a slight change “have a greater effect on weather than mankind has induced so far”.  Based on the best climatological science I can find, I believe that to be a true statement.

I also think it’s fair to say that the data & models do not suggest that we are currently in a “crisis”.

But I do think we should strive to be better stewards, and as I’ve pointed out, we are!

True I do live in North Dakota where it was 90 degrees on Tuesday and 66 today.  However mid-80’s isn’t accurage enough.  Some days it’s 85 and some days it’s 86.

More proof of Global whining.

Sounds exactly like Bush’s modus operandi for taking us to war on Iraq, if you leave out the word ‘factual’ and add ‘Saddam and his weapons of mass destruction are’ instead of ‘it is’ after dangerous in the first sentence.

Saddam’s weapons, murder, torture, rape and support of terrorists are real; global warming is a myth.  See the difference?  This thread is about Algore’s hypocrisy, not your hatred of our President, btw.

The lesson here, yet again: never believe a goddam thing any leftist ever tells you.

I have seen some scientific opinion that reducing pollution might be producing global warming due to increased sun energy(infrared) reaching the surface through clearer skies.  The law of unintended consequences, I guess.  The CO2 meme is just misdirection.

A new study released this week by the National Center for Policy Analysis, “Climate Science: Climate Change and Its Impacts” (http://www.ncpa.org/pub/st/st285) looks at a wide variety of climate matters, from global warming and hurricanes to rain and drought, sea levels, arctic temperatures and solar radiation. It concludes that “the science does not support claims of drastic increases in global temperatures over the 21rst century, nor does it support claims of human influence on weather events and other secondary effects of climate change.”

Al gore is spewing tons of hydrocarbons into the air flying around the globe spreading his bologna.
He should be using video streaming on the internet he invented.

SAVE THE PLANET...GROUND AL GORE.

With all due respect to our host, it just occurred to me that perhaps this thread is mis-titled.  Instead of noting that it is okay to lie if you get what you want, myabe the more correct order of thought is that getting what you want is but the latest excuse for lying.

“Love canal, “Love Story,” inventing the internet, fighting wildfires on the scene, the Tennessee tobacco farm, his sister’s medications, not to mention all this tedious “the sky is falling” B.S. If falsehood was a drug, AlGore would be walking pharmacy.

Still, at least he didn’t lie about Christmas in Cambodia, the Magic Hat, the “honorable” discharge, and throwing medals that weren’t his over the wall.
