Whiny Kids Grow Up To Be Conservative

This study showing that whiny kids grow up to be conservative brought to you by the uber-liberal Toronto Star and some professors at UC Berkley.

So, you know, no agenda there or anything.

My favorite part is when they compare Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh to Adolf HItler and Benito Mussolini..

Its my guess that it is more a product of your environment. All of the more assertive kids I know grew up to be conservative. the whiny ones were all democrats and they still whiny.

Hmmm. Let’s see. So, the kids with tendencies that would make them conservative, while growing up in a liberal environment, felt persecuted, and thus were perceived as whiny?

What really irks me is those two pinheads probably did this study at UC Berkley at my expense.

Or is that assertiveness?

First of all, when this study commenced decades ago, it wasn’t designed to point out that Conservatives were whiny kids. It’s was designed as a comprehensive study of personality among a group of closely studied and observed children which would go on with the intention of drawing correlations between patterns of behavior and adulthood results.

Secondly, many observations have come from this study over the years and this correlation between whiny children and Conservative Political leaning is just one of them . . . and not anywhere near central to the study.

Thirdly, could someone here please address the methodology of the study or errors of conclusion . . . if they can. Otherwise it’s funny witnessing a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

When I read this today and saw that most of the kids were from Berkley and immediately winced.

I think just growing up in Berkley is enough to breed you as a liberal.

We’ll give it to you. You’re like a different kind of John McCain Dustin. Can’t really say that you’e a “conservative”. You have certain conservative-like beliefs and ways of thinking to be sure, but all in all? I don’t see it.
