Al Gore Blasts Bush

Al Gore's big speech today, where he railed against President Bush and the NSA surveillance he authorized, is getting a lot of media coverage. If you ask me, this excerpt from his speech pretty much sums up the whole thing for me:

At present, we still have much to learn about the NSA's domestic surveillance. What we do know about this pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the President of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and persistently.

Right. Gore doesn't know much about the program, but he does know it is illegal. Why? Because Bush is the Republican who beat him in 2000, that's why.

Unfortunately for America, Gore didn't have any legal opinions on the Echelon program authorized under the Clinton administration.

Like when David Letterman admitted he couldn’t debate Bill O’Reilly point for point, but stated that 60% of what O’Reilly says is crap.
