When Defense Is Really Attacking

Good grief...

CNN's Media Bias

Dean and his fellow Democrats have been busying themselves trying to convince the American people that we are losing in Iraq, yet the President can't respond to that without being accused of "attack" his political opponents by the media?

Give me a break.

The Bush team and this blog has been referring to their “offensive” for a couple months now.  Like I said before, what’s the difference between an offensive and an attack?

MI:

You have to remember that in Rob’s world, any media that doesn’t simply cut-and-paste White House press releases is guilty of “lberal bias.”

My issue is that they call it an “offensive” (a series of attacks), but then don’t like it when the media uses the word attack.

The proper term is “counter-attack”, but then that would require telling the truth, something we really don’t expect from the MSM.

You should tell the writer of this blog entry, then, that he is misleading his readers.

Going on offense, which means (in this instance) taking an active role in refuting their allegations, is not equivalent to “attacking” them, which carries a very negative connotation that is not warranted.

Which you know, of course, but will ignore.

I’m not surprised that you would pretend not to get the point of this post, MI.  You know dang well that classifying Bush’s response to his critics as an “attack” on them is misleading, but its convenient for your politics to ignore that.

This was the definition I was using:

Of or relating to a team having possession of a ball or puck: the offensive line.

And again, you know what I meant, even if you’re pretending not to now.

That’s your tired claim. Just, whatever you do, don’t explain yourself when you make this claim.
