PETA Activist Gets Scared

Beware the rat monster.

Put down all drinks and swallow what you have in your mouth before watching.

Well… as much as I hate PETA-bashing, I have to admit, that was pretty funny. smile

It almost seemed to work too well… as though it were scripted. But maybe that’s just me.

This is the second time today I’ve had to call bullshit on this one. The video is set in a medical lab in Chatsworth, New Hampshire. One problem: THERE IS NO CHATSWORTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE. We got a Chatham, but it’s got a population of less than 300 and the town offices aren’t even in Chatham, they’re in Center Conway.

Amusing video, though.

Just to clear up some possible confusion… though I am very sympathetic to much of what PETA does (I’m a vegetarian, I don’t hunt, I don’t wear leather, etc.), I am NOT a member of their organization, because too many of their causes run contrary to either individual freedom or free market capitalism.

It kinda struck me as staged too.  I mean, the dude was a charicature of a PETA weenie.

But still funny, regardless.

It was a very funny skit, and that is what it was. Far too pat. All the stereotypical points were covered.

[...] A couple of bloggers I read regularly have linked to this video today. It’s from the TV show “Scare Tactics,” where people are subjected to rather disturbing practical jokes designed to terrify the hell out of them. [...]

Jay Tea:

Chatsworth, New Hampshire

Sorry, JT, but Chatsworth is a real town in NH.  Here’s proof that Chatsworth, NH exists but just isn’t on the map.  Click on the link and look at the address for the company given:

NEW HAMPSHIRE BALL BEARINGS

I would guess the reason it’s not on the map because it houses a secret CIA laboratory. The address to the above company is

NEW HAMPSHIRE BALL BEARINGS
727 DESOTO AVENUE
CHATSWORTH, NH 91311

Since 91311 is a California zip code, it is obviously that the CIA either moved the entire town to the west coast, or more easily, just gave it a west coast zip code.

Since I’ve told you this, I would speculate that they will now track you down and kill you. But that’s progress, I always say.

(Need I say say this?  wink)

Well, I’m guessing no.  But it’s still pretty funny.
