They’re both staged. Neither is real.
If you believe either are real, you really are confused.
One is taxpayer funded political propaganda.
When someone can prove to me that the Bush admin. told the soldiers what to say I’ll believe its “fake” or “propaganda.”
Jesus Christ, dude---haven’t you seen the tape? It’s available at c-span.og (but for some reason I can’t link directly to it)
If you have Real Player, you can cut and paste these addresses, one at a time, into that program (use the “open” tab) and that should do it.

C’mon, dude---are you really gonna try to keep a straight face and tell me that President “Mission Accomplished” wouldn’t use the troops in a propaganda piece?
A staged Q&A to me connotes not only giving interviewee(s) the questions but also the answers. While there is clearly evidence of the former (or at least the “possible questions"), there is no evidence of the latter. I would say “scripted” is a synonym for “staged” in normal usage.
I would expect this distinction to zoom over the media, since most of them have the education level of lobotomized monkeys. I would have expected you “educated folks on the left” (flame throwers like Don excepted, of course, being as he looks for any excuse to piss all over Bush) to be able to recognize the distinction on your own.
Any evidence that the soldiers were told what to say, or are you all just being pissy about this because you don’t like the answers that they gave?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Pretty much, I’d say. Especially that little bitch Don, but the others also.
Otherwise, you’re just yelling and hollering again in an attempt to smear the President.
Sphagnum, that’s all any of these bulls--t controversies ever are. I hope the left enjoyed this one while it lasted (and I don’t think it has much traction...find a regular person in your neighborhood who A) knows about the story and B) cares).
Welcome to the weekend, where lefty tempest-in-a-teapot controversies go to die. Come Sunday, this will be eclipsed by the NFL, this week’s Desperate Housewives episode, and whatever bad calls the umpiring crews in the AL/NLCSes make.
What a non-story. The announcement of Daniel Craig playing James Bond is bigger than this ridiculousness.
What we have here is the Left attempting to change the word “staged” to mean “prepared”. They yell and scream that the soliders knew the questions they would be asked ahead of time and rehearsed the whole thing so as to be prepared as though it was proof it was “staged”.
Like Rob said, if someone would just kindly point to where someone in the Bush admininstration directed the answers to the question… then we might go along with your scheme. Otherwise, you’re just yelling and hollering again in an attempt to smear the President.
Sweet one, Rob…

I think you are confusing “staged” with “scripted.” Both events pictured here are staged, meaning that they are produced for public effect. The entire purpose of the Bush Q&A with the soldiers was to elicit a certain reaction, as was the Sheehan event. To claim that either event was scripted strains credulity, as these events only require choreography.
If the general public doesn’t understand the concept of publicity events by now, we’re in bigger trouble than I thought.
I agree with MI 100%.
99.99999% of everything that happens in U.S. politics is staged.
Even this?
Really. I mean, the man can’t play soccer, ride a snowboard, or snap a football without the papparazzi showing up. Just because he’s a senator doesn’t mean he gives up his privacy!
LOL. Nah, John Kerry just felt like plaing soccer that day… he had NO IDEA there were cameras present!
This was my favorite one though…
And I’m sure Bush was equally unaware of said photographers................ hehe
