Hitchens Smacks Down Reagan

Radio Blogger has a great exchange between the insufferable Ron Reagan, a political opportunist who's name is about the only thing going for him, and Christopher Hitchens from Vanity Fair. RB has the transcript. It SOUNDED 10 times better than it reads (Hugh Hewitt played the sound byte on his show yesterday), but it is still a great read. Here's a snippet:

RR: So do you think we ought to invade Saudi Arabia, where most of the hijackers from 9/11 came from, following your logic, Christopher?

CH: Uh, no. Excuse me. The hijackers may have been Saudi and Yemeni, but they were not envoys of the Saudi Arabian government, even when you said the worst...

RR: Zarqawi is not an envoy of Saddam Hussein, either.

CH: Excuse me. When I went to interview Abu Nidal, then the most wanted terrorist in the world, in Baghdad, he was operating out of an Iraqi government office. He was an arm of the Iraqi State, while being the most wanted man in the world. The same is true of the shelter and safe house offered by the Iraqi government, to the murderers of Leon Klinghoffer, and to Mr. Yassin, who mixed the chemicals for the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. How can you know so little about this, and be occupying a chair at the time that you do?

UPDATE: The Political Teen has video of the event! Great! Notice how Ronnie keeps coming back to talking points... "hijackers were from Saudia Arabia"... "9.11 commision said no link to al Qaeda"... "How many more of these 'victories' can we endure?" Nothing substantive in his speaking, really. He speaks like a politician while Hitchens speaks like a man who knows his subject.... just great!

Why is it that he can find terrorists to interview and our government and military can’t. It just kills me when I hear shit like this we know so much and stop very little. We can tell you who the head honcho’s are in any terrorist organization but we just do not know where they are. We know how many illegal aliens there are but we can not stop them from crossing our borders. I can not take a shit without showing proper ID but an illegal alien can get a drivers license and a loan.

Before you can say it Likwid I know I am ranting and off topic now take that ugly beyotch you cut out of your picture out and get her something pretty.

Dude,..she was just the tray lady at a club I used to go to.  I didn’t even know her name and only wanted a pic so I could remember faces.

I’m wondering why you brought me up in a thread where I haven’t previously spoken.

Why would a conservative blogger post evidence that liberal pundits on television are unintelligent and ineffective at stating their views? I mean.... thanks, Ron Reagan, Alan Colmes, et al are a big problem, but shouldn’t this be at a liberal blog?

Actually it was the two owners having different ideas and the subsequent lawsuits brought against each other for various reasons.  It also probably didn’t help that they brought in people like Fat Boy Slim because he charges 10,000 bucks for a two hour set.  There’s no way that they could recoup the investment.

What you used to think of as a chill room. I am surprised that you were able to form such a lucid thought.

Well, I think we have determined who the cocksucker here is.  Run along now dick.

Sorry to disappoint you richard, or dick if you’d prefer to be called, but that was no gay bar.  That was the world famous and now defunct Motor club in Hamtramck, Michigan.  A small club known for bringing in the best techno DJs. World renowned DJs made it a regular stop for some reason and there was always a good crowd there.  The room in that picture is what I used to think of as the chill room.  A room I usually only passed through.

Not quite understanding the logic.  The point is that this liberal hasn’t a clue what he’s talking about, why would liberals point that out?
