The Public Breast Feeding Debate

Apparently there is some sort of controversy surrounding the idea of women breast-feeding their children in public. Barbara Walters, of all people, is leading the charge.

I guess I don't know what the big deal is, but there are people who are squeamish about this sort of thing. I know a few myself.

Which I just don't understand. Boobs are already plastered all over the place anyway. Advertising models in bikinis on our billboards. Television and movie actresses in low-cut numbers during prime time. Magazine cover models who are totally nude except for a well-placed limb or two in our checkout aisles.

What's the big deal about seeing a boob or two with a kid attached to it?

Heh, maybe Barbara is trying to deflect attention from the REAL debate going on here:

In a statement during an appearance on ABCâ€™s The View, outspoken lesbian Rosie Oâ€™Donnell confessed that she had ordered her lesbian partner to stop breastfeeding her child because of her jealousy.

â€œKelly [Rosieâ€™s partner] only nursed for like about a month,â€? said Rosie at the time, â€œand then I was very angry, because as the other mommyâ€¦with the other babies nobody nursed because they were adopted. But with this baby it was like she was the only one getting to bond. So I was like the nursing is over! I cut her off. Iâ€™m like, youâ€™ve had your limit honey. No more!â€?

Marty, just how did you get to that site? And yeah, I heard about this happy little exchange, my wifes aunt, who lives 2 towns over, watches all those,,,shows, I quess I have to call them that. She was all incensed over it. I believe this may have happened the same day Shawn Hannity was on. They had a very lively panel discusion.

How did i get to that site? In case you haven’t noticed, i’ve been actively debating the whole “gay rights/marriage” issue for a couple of years now. I have about 7 or 8 blogs that i frequent in that regard. SayAnything ain’t one of them, but sometimes i get lucky here too

Barbara Walters is just scarred from her life in the 60’s and 70’s when every chick in the world was showing their tits and the screams of EEEEEWwwww put those goat titties away when she showed hers left her humiliated.
