I had no idea that makes seven in the past month, that’s insane!  It kind of makes you wonder if this is the type of thing that has always happened, but it’s just been swept under the rug until recently.  I gotta say though, there’s nothing like a couple of hot women to draw attention to an issue and both Debra Lafave and Pamela Turner certainly fit that mold!

The point of communication is to convey a thought from one person to another.  Your text is nearly illegible, thus making your points extremely difficult to understand.  Yes, we are not in grammar class.  We are in the real world where communicating ideas is paramount. 

Please, before it’s too late, study English and understand the importance of good grammar, sentence structure and spelling!  Realize that by not learning to communicate the only person you hurt is YOU. 

Without good communication skills the best you can hope for is a mediocre labor job, or call center hourly employee.

Next, Britney - you point out that her life is ruined. If she is truly guilty of this crime then there is only one person to blame for this, and that is Pamela. She ruined her own life with her poor judgement.

I have seen this type of writing before.  The advent of the text messaging phone created the need for a shortened communication style.  IM’s also (sort of) required slang for quick communications. 

I don’t know if this person is truly 14 or not, but judging by the high standards being placed on kids in the Public de-education camps, (this one is mine ) I can see it…

Rob said it quite well.  We are not “picking on you” per se, but we are trying to assist you.  If you want your ideas to be heard, then you need to voice them in a way that is coherent for others.  If you are talking to a crowd of Elderly people, would you talk like you write?  Or, would you talk to them so that they understand your meaning?

Without Clear, concise diction the points you wish to share are moot and all validity to your position is lost. 

If you prefer to take the easy way out of your situation, then leave… don’t come back.  No one is going to mourn.  I do not say this to be mean. I am simply stating the truth.  The world is too big and busy for people to feel bad that you don’t want to “hang with us.” If you think quitting is better, then go. 

Nor will anyone stop you from posting in your gibberish, but realize that you will not reach as many people with your potential wisdom.

I don’t for a second believe that she is a 14 year old kid. My gut feeling is that her style, slang and misspelling is contrived to disguise the author’s identity.
It simply takes too much effort to post such rubbish as a natural style of prose.

I have a blackberry that I use for e-mails, which has a full keyboard on it, so I don’t need to use slang. I once worked for AOL as a technical support rep, so I did a lot of IM’ing, but never learned the IM shorthand (except LOL and the various emoticons) ETC.

But, not to be crass, I knew a lot of folks that learned to type one handed by using slang.  U R for “you are” etc.  I am not saying that I agree with using it as it limits the ability to communicate, nor do I think it should be used in a situation, like blogging, where you can not know who is reading your text.  Additionally, a 14 year old learning slang English is not as likely to learn real English as is evident by Britney’s posts. 

Don’t get me wrong, I understand the use of it, and could care less if it’s used between private people.  When you get into a public forum, there is no excuse for using it.

I use text messaging occasionally on my phone, and I’ve never resorted to anything like that.  The closest I’ve come was leaving off the word “I” on a sentence now and then.  ("Wrecked my car; am sitting at police station.  Can’t talk right now.")

The advent of IMs (and, later, text messages) may have given kids more of an excuse for this tripe, but it didn’t give them a NEED.  All they needed to do was learn to be concise.  (Something, as you can see, I’ve never really learned...)

Sweetheart, your freinds won’t think you’re cool just because you use slang, and they wont think less of you if you do not.  Most of your freinds read just fine, even if their writing is less than perfect.

The rest of the world however (that means us, as none of us know you) will think less of you for communicating with such laziness.  And yes, i’d be more forgiving if you were typing from a cell-phone.  If you are, just say so.

Nobody here is picking on you, or making fun of you. We all want to help! What that teacher and that student did or did not do does not matter. People do what people do, ain’t no stopping them. What I am going to ask you to do, is the next time you go to Wal-Mart, or whichever large store is in you town, go to the area where the magazines and books are. Look for a Websters Desk Reference set, it will be 3 books in a box, about the size of a carton of icecream. Don’t be afraid to ask someone, that is what they are there for. Come here and practice on us, current events are an excellent teaching tool. Plenty of people here to correct and encourage you. Good luck.

After reading your later posts in this thread, I went back and re-read your first post, which I had originally skimmed the first part of and then dismissed.  I have to admit that I still do not understand everything that you said, but I think the gist of your argument is that Pamela Rogers Turner could not be guilty because, one, she is a good person and a good friend who listened to you and your friends when you had problems, and, two, that she is an attractive and multi-talented woman who could have anyone she wanted whereas the thirteen year old boy is nothing to write home about.

I do not pretend to know whether she is guilty or not.  You are quite correct when you say that boys of that age are prone to lie about their sexual experience and she would not be the first teacher to be falsely accused of such a thing, but that is not proof.

Pedophiles and hebephiles (people who have a sexual attraction to adolescents) come in all shapes and sizes.  Some of them are creepy people that everyone is uncomfortable around and some are, in all other respects, perfectly normal.  These are people you have a problem that causes them to be attracted to under aged kids.  They do not turn to this because they cannot get dates their own age.  As for your assertion that she was a good friend and listened when you and your friends had problems, this does not surprise me.  If the accusations are false, this means that Ms Turner is a good teacher who cares about her students and can relate well to young people.  If the accusations are true, this means that Ms Turner is a good teacher who cares about her students, can relate well to young people, and is sexually attracted to young boys.  Many pedophiles and hebephiles are very good at relating to young people and gravitate towards jobs working with them.  This is not always because they are seeking sexual relationships and sometimes they work with young people for years or even their entire lives without ever acting on their sexual urges.  Others do not last nearly so long.

There is no standard type of woman who is attracted to underage boys just as there is no standard type of man who is attracted to underage girls.  The fact that you and many others in your community think highly of Ms Turner speaks well of her, but it is not proof that she is innocent, and it does not even necessarily suggest that she is innocent.

In closing, I would like to say to you that I thought some of the comments you made on this web site were interesting, but I, like many others here, would have passed over your comments without giving them a thought because of the way they were presented.  I have seen several instances in my life of talented and intelligent people who lost opportunities or whose careers fizzled because they lacked the ability to communicate their ideas well.  This is part of the reason that the SAT now has an essay portion.  Some day you may have one chance to attract the interest of a supervisor, prospective employer, or client and it won’t matter at all how good your ideas are if your initial presentation turns them off.

Learn who to speak and how to write well and forget whether or not it is fair of others to judge you based on these things.

And this runaway train rash of older women younger men thing is going to force our male dominated society to change its perspective of female sexuality. I just hope that not to many casualties of otherwise good women being thrown in jail for their spirits to rot results from it. But so far it has. Not good.
Women are finaly coming out of their shells and opening up sexualy and we destroy thier lives for it. I don’t like the message that is sending to women in general of our society. When a woman over 18 has sex with a teenager she’s not having sex with a child but with a young man....so that doesn’t make her a pedophile, nor does the fact that she craves great sex and acts on the impulse in a non-invasive way make her a rapist. But we are labeling them that arent we? Why does everyone feel so threatened? Trust me.....teenage boys eat this sort of thing like candy....and feeling threatened or violated is the furthest thing from their highly sexualy charged minds.
I’m all for protecting children, but lets not cut our foot off to get rid of our ingrown toenail. These women are causing no harm with their sexual explorations, ( ever wonder why they are receiving such light sentances?). If they were causing such “wreckage” and disruption, like men do when they act upon their more aggressive, destructive impulses and natures when commiting violent ugly sexual acts ( true rape) these women would be dealt with accordingly...tossed in jail and the key thrown away. But women are not men, and are not to be feared in the same capacity by any stretch. So lets aknowledge that and stop approaching this from such an anal retentive colloaquial standpoint of warped narrow sexual sensibilities based on fear and ignorance ok?

Hey Hotel.... Pam probably does have issues bro....I can see it in her letters.....but don’t we all? To one degree or the other? Trust me....her issues are not that profound.
At first I just liked her for her looks and the intrigue of what she’s accused of. But now I’ve fallen for her intelligence and large heartedness. You have no diarrhea how sick I am of dating women with 40 double D’s and zero IQ’s. So self absorbed over their physical attractiveness they can hardly think straight or socialy function.
Pam was a school teacher for crying out loud, and her love of people, of all walks of life, and of her proffession are touching. Its difficult for me to fear a woman like this. I don’t care if she transformed into a werewolf when the moon is full. She’s great gal. Nobody can take that away.

I just don’t understand how anyone would or could uphold the school teacher’s actions with a child.  It doesn’t matter that she is pretty or hot. She is an adult that should know better that having sex with a child. I am 33 years old and I have an 11 year old son. I just can’t imagine what a grown woman would possibly want in a little boy.  I really have a hard time understanding anyone that defends her actions.  It is so sad to me that this just keeps on happening.
